Okay, I will admit that I used to listen to "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies, but hey, I was like 5yrs old at the time. I still like that song. Oh, another one that I still like is "Saturday Night" by the Bay City Rollers. So there. :p:biggrin:

I'll echo those who are unashamed.

And add these for those who think they're worthy of shame:

I too am a massive Monkees fan. I have a lot of their albums on Vinyl AND CD.

Spice Girls

Englebert Humperdinck

Abba

Cheap Trick

Heart (pre-80's)

John Denver

Disney soundtracks

James Taylor

The Beach Boys

Polish Polkas

Garth Brooks as Chris Gaines

Dean Martin

There are tons.

Chernobyl: I know the "Blue, da ba dee" song came out when I was in 8th grade.... late '98/ early '99?

I HAD their CD but it got stolen, but I have it downloaded somewhere. =D

I like a lot of things and I'm not ashamed of ANY of it. I love Elvis Presley (I'm obsessed, actually) and Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin and the Bee Gees and .... oh, I could go on and on.

I love anything by Jimmy Buffett, and I am not ashamed!

Jimmy Buffet rocks!

Some music that people look at me funny for listening to:

Tupac (i love the "Keep Ya Head Up" song..)

Fugees (AGH!!! CAN ANYONE TELL ME THAT LAUREN HILL'S VOICE IS NOT "BANGIN'"?!)

Shakira

Fergie

(and black eyed peas)

hahahaha -sometimes- Blink182

Tom Waits

Bruce Springsteeeen

HOLE

7YearBitch

*sigh*

...everyone has something to say.. listen close to the lyrics of every song.. some make you laugh.. some make you cry.. musicians put their soul into what they do... i enjoy MOST music.

I'm 32,

I still listen to old INXS or U2 and stuff like that if its on,

although I'm not certain as to whether I should be ashamed of it or not.

I'm not ashamed but at the moment my gulity pleasure is Fergie's big girls don't cry. Do to the fact that I really tried not to like it, I had just gotten up hella early with Keegan, turned on the TV and saw a hot ass, tattoo cover peter Petrelli, I had to stay for the sexiness and ended up liking the song. ::wipes drool from mouth:;

I think shame is a waste of energy. You do things because you like it and want to do it, so spend the energy enjoying it. ;)

Of course someone at sometime has told me that I should be ashamed of every piece of music I own and one person actually wanted to delete all of my mp3s and replace them with his. . . I said no.

Some music is brain candy. . .and brain candy is just as much fun as real candy.

Shake off your shackles of shame and revel in the fact that you listen to music that makes you happy!

This is one a few people are agitated by the fact that I love:

I wouldn't call it high art or a thought provoking production, but it makes sparkles in my brain. :)

The people I work with did not believe me when I told them I could do the NKOTB dance.

Pfft.

They have NO IDEA who they're dealing with.

I had to throw down.

I know the feeling! So get this, when I was stuck in ABQ I decided to re-activate my phone. Now, for years I have been running a Straight Talk Mobile Hotspot for wifi instead of paying for actual phone service, because I get more data for 50 bucks on the wifi plan than I would get for the same price for my phone plan, and I don't call anybody very often if ever, so it only made sense. Well while I was in ABQ I got desperate and decided I needed to make some phone calls so I walked down to Walmart to get a  45 dollar plan for my phone, only to realize that I had to walk back to walmart again (4 miles one way) to get a new Sim card, because the one I had was too old, apparently...  Anyway, literally the second I reactivate my phone - I got a phone call from a frickin' debt collector!  I mean it was so instantaneous that I assimed it was Straight Talk calling to confirm my activation or something - instead it was somebody with a foreign accent that I could barely understand, asking for whoever the person was that previously had the phone number I had just been assigned. . . I was so irritated with this fact.    And yeah now I'm getting multiple calls, daily, from everybody and their brother, looking for whoever the person was that used to have this number.  Wells Fargo, AT&T, etc etc.    I think there needs to be some better way of doing this. Recycling phone numbers as fast as we do this day & age isn't working out very well. 🤷

I have no idea why I'm even on all of these call lists that are on Robo-Dial by A.I.  One is a female voice and the other is a male voice and all they did was change the name that they give you.  I did get put through to a few live people to try to ask them to remove me from their list, but they, the telemarketer, hung up on me.   It's like I'm living "Telemarketers Revenge" for all the years of people handing up on them.   I always spoke with the telemarketer and then wished them a good day before hanging up.  And this is what I get for all of my decades of kindness.  I don't think I deserve this, but the World has lost a lot of the niceties that it used to have when I was growing up.  And no...COVID did not cause this.  I'm also getting tired of that excuse.  Its been 6 years!  People felt they were given the Green Light to be anti-social and rude to your face and now it is part of society just like everything else Mainstream adopts and considers it a cultural add-on.   I just hope I can survive this onslaught of calls blowing up my phone until it dies down.  Else, I will place a block on my number and only allow calls from family, friends and medical associated with my job.

This is crazy.   I had to mute my phone because I am getting 50+ calls a day regarding Life Insurance, Medical Insurance, Burial Benefits, a Senior Food Expense Card, a Senior Social Security monthly reimbursement benefit, etc., and I don't qualify for any of it.  I don't even meet the age requirement.   At current, I have 53 missed calls and 38 of them were from yesterday.
