Fierce Critter Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I had a henna tattoo applied at the Wyandotte art fair today. It's beautiful, but I might go back tomorrow and ask her about it. She emptied one tube of henna and started a new one while in the middle of it. Where she used the 2nd tube, it's very vivid. Where she finished the first tube, it's pretty darn faint. Anyway, I'm thinking I'd like to pick up some myself and give it a whirl. Anyone know where I can buy it?

When you mix and apply it, though, there are additives to make it stain better..... I dont remember offhand, though, i'll have to look it up. I think one was moistening the henna goop with lemon juice...
jcheeka Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Hennaking.com check out this website they sell all kind of henna and stencils and other related things. To make it stay longer they is a mixture of lemon sugar water that you dab on the tatttoo to keep it mosit. The longer it stays moist the deeper the dye color in you skin. I get them all the time and the one I got a the ren. festival stayed the longest. It lasted almost 2 months
Fierce Critter Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 Mine is already fading. I have dry skin. I hadn't thought that I should keep it moisturized, and I haven't. So parts of it have flaked off. And I can't help but have to wash my hands constantly. I have litterboxes to clean, and I have a certain degree of germaphobia when it comes specifically to my hands. So the advice to "put some kind of oil on it when you wash" just doesn't work for me. I'd be slicked up constantly. I'm letting it wear out at this point.
Ivy13 Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I order henna for my hair and body art here: http://www.mehandi.com/shop/ I love their stuff. I don't know if they have the tubes though. I usually mix my own. It's a great shop either way.
