You've put this awful thing in me,

I've been purging twenty years.

Sometimes I lose the sight to see,

While I'm choking back the tears.

I have lost the will to live,

But I do not want to die.

Because I still have the will to hate,

Every drop you've made me cry.

Bloodied and bruised, beaten and sore,

We are still standing

In our defiance we crawl, we walk

We push forward still standing.

Our words will be heard,

Kill us while you still can,

Our thoughts will live forever,

In every child, woman, and man.

You can't make of us a martyr,

We lost a good one long ago,

But he hears our cries,

Our blood calls him from below.

You have pushed me to my limits,

But not beyond self control.

You might have my mind,

But I still have my soul.

You cannot put out the fire,

You've set inside of me.

Long after I'm gone it will consume you,

And yours for eternity.

That’s Random? I guess the title doesn’t quite fit the defiant emotion I pulled from the poetry. It certainly encompasses that singularity rather well.
