Cheap Lodging In The Traverse City Area?

We haven't been up there since 2001.

Anyone got any tips on cheap places to stay?

We're trying to find less than $50 per night.

Trying to upgrade from just putting our air mattress in the back of our truck and staying at the Cycle-Moore campground in Interlochen ($15 per night) to maybe a no-frills motel with a clean bed & air conditioning.

Even a minicabin with air would be fine.

We'd consider within 15 minutes of downtown TC or so.

I think we're going to end up in the campground.

Used to be able to find a cheap, "just there to sleep" motel for around $35-$40.

I think the Pinecrest on Munson is cheap. Like, REALLY cheap - like, most people wouldn't stay there.

Doesn't bother us. I'll call them tomorrow maybe.
