Hellion Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 Lately I have been getting calls about other job offers, some better than where I am at,and some not that good, but everyone was for machinist/centerless grinding(aerospace, non automotive)which is fine for me,since I will not work at any place thats just Big Three related. Other than that if this keeps happening I might just have to take them up on their offer, especially if its closer to home, since I will be moving a couple of miles south. The one thing I will not do is take any paycut whatsoever, due to cost of living.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 wiegh and balance the offers before you accept any. Don't fuck yourself over. but consider.. if the offer is less pay.. but offers better bennys... it may be worth taking the pay cut.

Don't fuck yourself over. but consider.. if the offer is less pay.. but offers better bennys... it may be worth taking the pay cut. True very true,a paycut thats extreme is mostly what I meant to say, example:(from 13hr-9hr) Yeah this one offer I had would have been 15-18 an hour, but the only thing that stopped me from getting the job,is I do not have carbide grinding experience, one of the few things I am lacking in the grinding area, and the shop where I am at does not do carbide, which I know is extremely difficult to grind,I finally at least have learned how to precision grind Stainless steel, which acts very different from regular iron based steels. thanks for the advice.
