jadnifer Posted July 16, 2007 Posted July 16, 2007 How many of you have read the complete vampire chronicles by Anne Rice. I read Interview With the Vampire and I loved it. I am going to start reading The vampire Lestat but I want to know how good they are first. Let me know.
jammers Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 i have read them all and the other series that is has written as well and i just loved them you might want to read the witches series as well because it blends in with the vampires later. i really did enjoy all the books and honestly i find it hard to find books that keep me interested but i couldnt put them down.
jadnifer Posted July 17, 2007 Author Posted July 17, 2007 Thats awesome. I have always been interested in vampires and witches and things like that. Its good to know that they are that good. Did you know that she also writes erotica?
Troy Spiral (13) Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 I'm going to guess the "read the complete series" count is going to be very low since there is a ton of them. But i know at least 2 people off the top of my head that are active on here that have read at least most of them. I read Interview twice and also Lestat and Queen. I read the first mayfair witches book. I have , i think, at least 10-11 (used bookstore paper backs and i think one random hardcover) rice novels but just have not gotten around to them. I LOVED Interview and Lestat, I thought Queen was "very good" but not quite on par with the first two, i tend to get irritated when all "the secrets" are revealed, so I'm probably a bit too critical of it. Right about the time i finished Queen was when i started to shift toward nonfiction which is probably what the hold up became heh. I'd definitely put Interview on an "Top 10 suggested Fiction Reads" list. In terms of the "goth realm" of things, that'd be just a gimi, go read it now!
Crazed Vampyress Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 i only got thru interview, lestat and queen but I LOVED THEM ALL and still havent given up hope of continuing... one day there will be time.... one day!
Daevion Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Interview, Lestat and Queen of the Damned were great.....after that however my interest waned...but maybe you'll enjoy them.
freydis Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 The first few were good, the rest.... not so much. Anyone know whatever happened to Anne Rice, anyway? Not seen much else by her....
jadnifer Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 The first few were good, the rest.... not so much. Anyone know whatever happened to Anne Rice, anyway? Not seen much else by her.... She wrote some books under pseudonyms....I wonder if she is doing it again?
freydis Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 She wrote some books under pseudonyms....I wonder if she is doing it again? Hmm..... quite possibly....
LadyKay Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 I loved them. Kind of slow in some places but a very good read I think. I really enjoyed "Tale of the Body Thief".
jadnifer Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 I loved them. Kind of slow in some places but a very good read I think. I really enjoyed "Tale of the Body Thief". Havent gotten that far yet...just started Vampire Lestat
jadnifer Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 She has found Jesus and now only writes for his "glory". (I'm not making this shit up). Her most recent novel was about the life and times of Christ.Furthermore, she has not gone so far as to disown the Vampire Chronicles, but she has distanced them from her as much as she can. ARE YOU SERIOUS??????????
EvilEve Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 unfortunetly, yes he is. she's writting the life of Christ, starting from when he's 8yrs. old(?), until the end... i did (and own) all of the vampire/witch chornicles... they are all very good, IMO. you need to read the witch ones as well as the vampire ones, because they will eventually mesh together.
jadnifer Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 thanks everyone. Has anyone read her erotica?
Troy Spiral (13) Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 I have a friend that says Tale Of The Body Thief is her favorite of them all. (Which i believe is number 4) Might be a bit of an insentive for some to push through queen onto the rest hehe. And of the "lesser" chars my favorite was Pandora, and there's a book called "Pandora" so i might break down and ram through them all cronologiclly to get to pandora one day heh. But my insentive to read "fluffy" (read fiction) stuff is fairly low these days. I'd kind of rather finish my collected works of Edgar Allen Poe which i'm only half way through , but i digress.
