Interesting Finds At The A2 Art Fairs

These are links to the webpages of some of the artists I found particularly interesting. I couldn't afford to buy from them, but I hope to someday.

Abel Photography - haunting photos of early 1900's wax mannequins. The story behind these is compelling - beautiful, realistic, all from the Detroit area.

LoftPrints by Chuck Wimmer - He was at the show last year, and it's the booth I could have gone most broke at. The pictures are whimsical, the attitude in them is precocious. His designs were used on the t-shirts & advertising for that particular part of the fair this year.

Barry Hendrickson Photo - black & white photographs of Ireland. This guy makes Ireland look like a place in which you need to walk around with a bagful of wooden stakes. REALLY.

Jack Brubaker - metalsmith. I was particularly fond of his candlesticks. Maybe not in the category of "amazing", but I really wish I could afford an armload of them.

Last but not least, sculpture by Bill Secunda - check out his animal sculptures. All MASSIVE, and made almost entirely from NAILS. His moose and bear were at the show, and they are AMAZING. $14,000 will get you the bear, $25,000 (if memory serves) the moose. Hell, I'd have one in my front yard.
