I guess I will get all kinds of responses to this one.

Case in point. A relative, who shall remain nameless...has put on a bit of weight. She is still hot, but seems to be going through that mid life phase where she wants to restablish herself as a woman after having kids and being cooped up and all.

So now she is running around in front of EVERYONE (including grandpa.....who honestly blushes at the sight of her) with her ass cheeks hanging out of her shorts and her tits popping out of her top.

It is not flattering. I wouldn't say its gross....but.....common. At family gatherings? We don't want to see her ta ta's. Seriously.

I have a family portait of her and you don't even notice the kids....I am surprised the photog didn't say something as.......all you notice....is her huge tits. You can almost see a nipple.

I almost can't believe she wore this for a family portrait and is passing them around.

Should someone say something? Cause I sure am not going to. I might try to get her sister to ask her to tone it down a bit but don't think it should come from me. What would you do?

Ouch, that's a tough one. I guess it depends on who it is and what they are doing that appears to be inappropriate. If it was my daughter, my bestfriend, or a very close friend or relative, I would probably have no problem discussing, for instance, the manner in which they dress, or some other inappropriate act. I know who they are and where they are coming from, so I can be honest, but kind, and open with them.

There's a kind, non-confrontive way to address anything... and yeah errone has the right to wear whatever they damn well please, but family gatherings are stressful enough without being distracted by excessive displays of flesh. If this was someone in my family I would say during a private moment, something like "so what's with the new look? It's pretty attention getting but I don't know if it's really you" and LISTEN to her reply... that should guide your next move. If she's perfectly aware of the effect she's creating and is just taking out hostility against the family, there's not much point in going any further. If it seems like she's receptive you could have some pics of women looking sexy but not trashy and say something like "I bet this would look really good on you... we should go shopping and find you some stuff like this". When you want someone to change their behavior it's usually more helpful to show you're willing to help them change, rather than just casting judgment.

Since this post seems to be strictly about appearance, I'll just say that I mostly agree with Bean, Gaf & Saechalyn.

But overall, as I'm getting older and more sick of people being assholes, I'm becoming more outspoken when people act the jerk in public.
