DarkChylde Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Check this shit out y'all. Last tuesday when I was walking back home through delrway from the library on jefferson. There was this guy who was riding his bike through a alley-way and just out of nowhere these 2 pittbulls pounced the guy off the bike and started attacking. This guy was trying all his might to defend himself by taking his shoes off throwing them at the pittbulls (which that part looked kind of funny) Then he picked up his bike and used it as a shield which that wasnt doing no good either, then he litiraly threw his bike at them and after that, thats when the pitts made there critical attack on him by biting both of his arms. At this point blood was shedding everywhere and the guy was screaming for help, thats when I got really concerned and ran near the scene. I didnt get close, I kind of stood far away and had to yell out at the guy telling him just be still and dont move (Pittbulls dont attack when you dont try to resist by escaping, something I learned when I was a kid). So now the pitts got the guy trapped near this boat leaving no other options to escape, I couldnt get too close otherwise the pitts would attack me. The guy shouted back at me saying "get your dogs!!" I told him if they were mine I would but there not. Then I asked him if he had a cell phone and he repplied back saying no. I could see his arms from a far distance and noticed that he's losing blood really bad. He told me to try getting someone to pull over to see if hopefully any of them has a phone. I tried it but no one was pulling over. After awhile when things was starting to seem really hopeless Then I realized that one of my friends great aunt lives right around the block. I told the guy that im going to someones house to see if I can get any help from there, also and for the time being dont move a inch and try to hold tight I promise I'll be right back! He said ok and I tooked off running. Once I got there luckily his great aunt was home! I told her theres a emergency situation going on here can you call 911? She asked me what is happening and I told her the story. She went back inside the house and called 911. Few minutes later she walked outside and told me that they said they need to know the exact crossroads otherwise theres nothing they can do about the situation. Im like "oh thats just fucking great!". I told her that im going back there to see if anyone atleast pulled over by any chance. As I was heading back luckily I saw a police cruiser heading down the road. I got there attention and told them what was going on, they asked me wheres the location so I told them. Once they got there they told the guy to move on the count of 3 so there'll be perfect aiming for the pitts (which there going to shoot them) after 3 was counted the guy moved quickly and the cops started shooting down the pitts. One was killed instantly but the other didnt die right away after being shot a couple times, the pit started running in my direction! Im like "oh shit!" and started booking! Once I lost the pit and knew it was safe I started walking back to see if the guy was ok. The cops asked me if I could ask him to sit down due to getting frustrated with the guy, I told him its ok and just sit down and relax for awhile. Turned out the guy was really drunk plus I could tell he was in major shock as well (which I dont blame him for being in shock). He sat down and started thanking me over and over for saving his life, I told him its no biggie and im just not one of those assholes that would deny someone in serious need of help. He told me his name and hes in his mid-40's, The wounds on his arms was really bad, even the cops said that hes going to need some serious stitches once he gets to the hospital. The guy was so fucking lucky that I just happen to be walking by at that time, otherwise the pitts wouldve killed him, plus im just glad that I avoid alleyways otherwise that couldve been me getting attacked by such dangerous mutts. The guy said that when he gets out of the hospital he wants to treat me to some alcohol at a bar, I told him to not worry about it and im just glad that hes ok. He asked me if I could do him a favor by taking his bike to where he stays, I told him just give me the location and I'll do it. He told me so I left with his bike, the cops thanked me for that favor as I left. Once I got to his place I had to explain to those who lived with him happened. After that one of them gave me a ride home the rest of the way and told me there forever in my debt. I got home extremely later than I planned and was extremely exhausted, I just took a hot bath and went to bed. That includes my adventure and I seriously hope I dont encounter a situation like that no more. last night I went to city club and had me enough drinks to rid the stress.
Hellion Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 That is why I always carry a piece of re-bar steel with me when ever I do take a walk anywhere.since alot of stupid people let their dogs run wild, despite leash laws.
Reaper Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Good job man. I think a lot of people tend to do something about a situation like that. Its the few ignorant people who walk away from a situation like that which make people seem cold. A couple of years ago, I helped out another driver while sitting down in Laredo Texas waiting for a load. She was choking on a piece of chocolate she was nibbling on. I ended up giving her the heimlich maneuver and forced out the blockage in the first pump. I really didn't feel like a hero, but just that I had helped someone out. I wondered what it would feel like if I had helped someone in that manner and it really wasn't any different. At least you got to the guy before he was shredded.
Onyx Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Wow. He's really lucky you came along. A lot of people wouldn't have risked getting hurt themselves like that to help him.
Crazed Vampyress Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Way to go! and the weekend hero award goes too......
Destroit Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Good gawd, that makes you an official BAMF now I suppose. That was intense just reading that lol, I would have been scared to hell 'cause yeah, dogs and I (especially pitbulls) do not get along. Good job man, that's crazy shit.
jadnifer Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Good job!! Not a whole lot of people would have done what you did!! Pat yourself on the back, man!!
pomba gira Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Wow Rambo what a story! That guy is so lucky you happened along... also that you knew to tell him not to move. Hail to the hero! I'm certainly not a courageous person but I can't imagine just walking away from a situation where someone was in desperate need of help. Like Reaper said, I think most people are the same when it comes down to it... but the few who "don't wanna get involved" make the whole human race look bad. One nice thing about Lansing, you don't see dogs running around uncontrolled. I remember when I was a cub there were packs of feral dogs roaming all over Detroit, it was scary. Seems like they did a better job of animal control when I lived there in the late '90s, but lately I'm seeing more roaming dogs whenever I'm down there. They seriously need to do something about that shit.
Homicidalheathen Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Like I said, carry a bat. I was attacked a few years ago and was on crutches for 2 1/2 yrs because of it. When I met $$ I was still on them. Good job man you saved a life for sure.
Kit Kat P Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 That is awesome, I'll have to remember that. I was attacked once as a child and it kinda stays w/ you.
Reaper Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Had it been me, I think I would have grabbed something and beat the hell out of those dogs lol. I hate when people let them run rampid and at the same time possibly rabid.
Homicidalheathen Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 Easier said than done. Where would you find something to beat them with that fast? It took me years to get over my fear of dogs. Actually having one now is good therapy for me. Had it been me, I think I would have grabbed something and beat the hell out of those dogs lol. I hate when people let them run rampid and at the same time possibly rabid.
creatureofthenyte Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 wow! thats so awesome dude. major karma points for you!
know_buddy_kares Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Very well done. I have a personal hatred for people who let dogs loose like that. A few months back one of our cats wound up missing, we found out later that some pits raised for fighting had been set loose when the cops were about to do a raid and that they'd been frequenting the area attacking people and pets here. Glad the cops shot those fuckin dogs. next on the list, i wish they'd also shoot the fuckstain that was responsible for those dogs as well.
DarkChylde Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 I wasnt trying to be no hero nor was I trying to earn browny points either. I did it because I knew if it was me in that situation no one wouldnt bothered stopping to help, and I didnt want to be like these ignorant fucks these days. Yeah I aint going to lie, it WAS a horrific scene and I was afraid the dogs might come after me, but luckily they didnt. (I was also attacked by dogs before when I was a kid) Pitbulls are very dangerous dogs, however there just like weapons that could be used for bad & good. Just all depends on the user. Its mainly the owners fault not really the pits, I can understand why the pits had to be shot down though, its either the guy gets killed or them. But on n all glad to hear my deed makes y'all happy though
DarkChylde Posted August 23, 2008 Author Posted August 23, 2008 Fuck, I cant believe its been over a year already! Time sure fly's fast.
pomba gira Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Fuck, I cant believe its been over a year already! Time sure fly's fast. So, looking back a year later... do you feel that this incident changed you forever? Or just changed the way you look at yourself/the world in any significant way?
DarkChylde Posted August 25, 2008 Author Posted August 25, 2008 So, looking back a year later... do you feel that this incident changed you forever? Or just changed the way you look at yourself/the world in any significant way? Nah, I've seen alot worst situations than this before so apparently im use to it. But since I was walking through delray that day I always wondered what would happen if it was me instead of that guy.etting Like what reaper said usually most would just ignore the situation and keep walking. If i was the one getting attacked therefor I doubt I even still be alive to type this as we speak. Its hard to describe, not only those pittbulls were huge but they had extremely deadly jaws that easily peirced through the mans arm. See delray is the abandoned part of detroit where theres barely anyone that walks through there. That guy is so fucking lucky that it just happens I was passing by. I been through so many dangerous situations in my past life, and when I think about it. Its odd that I still survive.
Miranda Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I guess they don't call you "Rambo" for nothing.
