I honestly can't think of any words that I want removed outright from the english language. However, I would be most pleased if we could restore some words so that they mean just what they are meant to, instead of having negative connotations.

For instance, the word gay. As for using it in place of happy, it's a bit out of style with the times, but I'd much rather have gay mean happy instead of standing in for "stupid" when someone is using it as the stand-in for homosexual, what with the equations there. Gay might mean homosexual in the modern world, but neither gay, nor homosexual, mean stupid.

The same goes for retarded. Retard, of course, means slow, and retarded was adopted as way to refer to people who are mentally challenged, but it was then tokenly used to mean "stupid," as a put down.

Hrmm.

WTF why is pear/pair so special can't they just share a spelling and make people use their brains like tear and tear?
