Thanks to everyone that takes the time to welcome the new people.

When someone first shows up on a board, many are not sure how they will be received and are reluctant. It helps greatly if people get the impression we are friendly/welcoming. Really its much appreciated.

If you'd like to help even more:

If you go to the top right of the board and click on "Members" then choose "New Person" from the drop-down box (it says "All Members" by default) then click "go" you will get a list of all the "new people"

That is, people that have less than 5 posts. Typically these are folk that at least have some interest in DGN but for whatever reason never felt motivated enough to stick around or to actually post much (if at all) often PMing these people with a welcome is helpful since they may not even be AWARE of the "introductions" section, and even if they are they may never check it.

THEN after they reply to your PM (and you know they are alive), make a welcome post for them. After a day or so if they have not repleid to it send them another pm with a link to it. Usually it does the trick.

Just a suggestion. I do it myself but I'm involved in so many other things i often don't have time. But even if i do, more than 1 welcome is always nice.

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
