Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I'm not sure what happened. Marz has been clingy with Kim all day. We let him out on the screened in porch around the pool... he's always been an inside/outside cat, but we didn't think it wise to let him go outside here in Florida... I went out to get him about an hour ago.. he was laying on the patio sleeping. When I called him, he looked up at me but didn't even try to stand.. thats usually just him saying "Piss off, I'm content". Well, I'm going to bed.. so I went out to get him inside.. i found him on the far side of the pool. I can't find any marks on his body or any bumbs from anything biting him. his tongue is not slwollen, but it is blue... which makes me think, thatsomehow.. he ran out of air... but I'm not sure how that could have happned... the kids are all crying.. I'm not sure anyone is going to sleep... we had a midnight funeral... This really sucks.
Fierce Critter Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Oh, yes, it does suck. :( I'm so sorry. If he did, in fact, "run out of air," it could have been a side effect from something else that afflicted him. Though I couldn't hazard a guess. My closest experience would be Lincoln, who last year, died very suddenly and in front of me from what turned out to be an undiagnosed heart condition. Fine the night before, gone hours later and nothing could be done. Sometimes, there's just no sign, and nothing we can do. :(
jadnifer Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Im so sorry to hear this..Its very hard losing a pet
hunhee Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I feel for you..I can't imagine what I would go through if something happened to my Berkley or my Dot :( *hugs*
jadnifer Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I dont know what I would do if I lost my taz, molly, or misty
Shade Everdark Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 It's lame, but I can't think of anything more original to say. I'm terribly sorry about your loss, Gaf. You have my deepest sympathies.
CandyQuackenbush Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 *hugs* So sorry about your loss. I hope things get better over time.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted August 6, 2007 Author Posted August 6, 2007 omg I feel like shit. marz was... we refered to him as one of the kids... been crying all damn day.. which sucked cause I was at work.

Shade Everdark Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 omg I feel like shit. marz was... we refered to him as one of the kids... been crying all damn day.. which sucked cause I was at work. If it helps any, I was the same way when my Kiri passed on. I've experienced the deaths of two grandparents, and Kiri's death was more gut-wrenching than either.
Msterbeau Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 If it helps any, I was the same way when my Kiri passed on. I've experienced the deaths of two grandparents, and Kiri's death was more gut-wrenching than either. Ditto. Two of my cats died last summer including one I'd known for 20 years. It's not easy. Crying is a good sign that you're not some emotionless robot.
Sybil Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 AWW!! I just saw this.. :*( How sad, I'm sorry!! boo!
Sybil Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 My dog was REALLY bad off a few years ago.. ..had to put her down and then go to work.. i have NEVER cried so hard. The lady I was working with, Margo, was a total doll.. if not for her I would have been way worse. :( Its never easy. I am so sorry.. Is everyone feeling a lil better now?
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 yeah, we just dont look at that part of the yard where he is buried.
