I wonder how that compares percentage wise with domestically made toys. The numbers look big but they need to be taken into context of how many total toys are made.

I think i just assumed most all toys were made or at least assembled in other countries, never even really thought about the distinction until now. *ponders*

they're made in other countries, mainly to avoid the high labor costs in the US.

They're small on these toys, and if they fall off (which was the issue) they're easily swallowed....

We live in a society where it is cheaper to ship toys across the largest ocean on earth than it is to build them on the same continent where they will be bought.

We have two choices... help China become capable of policing its factories, thereby jump starting its economy, and making the cost of labor comparable with American and European wages, or lower our standards so that we can compete with China, now.

India and China hold TWO-THIRDS of the population of the earth. We need to do our best to make their industrial revolutions as clean and as short as possible.
