I am not sayng post things that make it easy for phishing later but..without actually posting your passwords...what type do you use?

Aniversaries.......as most sites want you to include a number now....heh of coarse 666 comes to mind...

Pet names are waaay to obvious.....

I like to use strange things that will stick in my mind no matter what even if I am drunk and just changed it like

BUTTSEXMIDGETS09

How about you?

I use meaningless crap for the most part. Random groups of letters and numbers with an odd cap here and there.

I am into numbers and sequences, so my passwords are generally numbers :)

How do you remember them, you must have a good memory or do you write them down?

Posted

I write them down 10 times. Then run that piece of paper through a shredder.

I use foreign words coupled with binary numbers.

I use one's you won't guess. Always with numbers and caps.

Given my profession I use long, complex passwords containing upper and lower case alpha, numbers and special characters all together and all mixed up.

i use meaningless details from my past. for example the numbers of the address of the middle school i went to. or the name of the neighbor's dog i used to walk as a kid. stuff that stands out to me but no one else would be able come up with.

I can never remember random letters and numbers myself. It's no good to me if I have to write it down and risk someone finding it or me forgetting it (which happened way too often). I saw a suggestion about creating passwords that I've used since.

Find a quote or a saying (preferably an uncommon one), especially one that has a number in it. Use the first letters of the words of the quote as your password.

For instance - "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" would become ABITHIW2ITB

Easy to remember and more secure than using just a common word or your pet's name or something. I'd choose something less common than the bird in the hand thing though. For a bit more security you could also choose to always make a certain letter lowercase, for instance the firth and seventh or something like that and do it consistently over all your passwords.

thats an interesting idea. ive also heard it said that if you choose your password however you want and simply add to it, it adds extra security. so choose your password, then add a random word on the end. use a word not in your regular vocabulary. look up an uncommon one or misspell one you use frequently. this is just something ive heard before....

I use the DGN nicknames.

I use a phrase that I remember from my childhood. It's short, sweet & to the point. :peanutbutterjellytime:
