That should really really disturb me...yet....what a bad ass. I mean it would have been horrible if someone else had done it to him, but let's just say in the DAYS it took to set the thing up, he could have easily changed his mind. So obviously, if that's how he wanted to do it then well...that's that. Sad that he killed himself in general though, that's always sad no matter what.

I'n not so sure you would feel all that much pain for those 6 or so secends that your brain still functioned. For one... you need nerve ending to feel pain and those are all gone... so you may feel pain in your neck... but I doubt it would be much... cause for second.. the brain shuts down pain receptors during severe physical shock... so like.. I cant think of anything more shocking.. even if you see it coming than finding your self sans body.

in all of history, only beheadings by axe did the victims face look distorted in pain, and thats because it usually never went through with one chop (thats why queen mary of scotland asked to be beheaded by sword, the english rapier does a good job of hacking bit off in one good swing)
