I was in the USMC for 5 years, got out.. went in dept, going back in army, but can't get the same type of duties i had in the usmc due to dept..

for some reason being in dept means you cna't have any security clearance... fuck it oh well

was going to join the army, intention of the Royal Engineers, but i broke my leg horribly and walked on it a few miles and cut the cast off after 3 days. stupid stupid stupid

they'd have laughed at me in recruit office if i'd hobble in on a walking stick as i was for 2 years afterwards.

it still gives me jip now and then still

Debt?

yeah... the army said that I can't keep any jobs that require a security clearance due to dept... aint that some shit?

Apparently... if you are in dept yet making payments, it's ok... but if you're unable to make payments, you cannot hold any job that requires a security clearance in the military... so there goes some jobs I coulda done...

Well gee, everyone here knows what I do and where I'm at, and what I do..... hopefully this is my last time in IRAQ. Anywhere else is fine.

Oh, and I have 5.5 years in with 2 tours under my belt.

I tried to do the army reserve, but between the undiagnosed asthma and heart murmur it was a no-go.

Regular Army!

Sadly, my dreams of a lifelong career were cut short for medical reasons.

The concept behind the no clearance w/ debt is that the person holding the debt is far more susceptible to being bribed.

That, and the whole "not able to handle responsibilities" thing.

I considered military service when I was younger, but as an epileptic I figured it was wiser for both my own safety and that of others to avoid such a potentially dangerous situation.
