chernabog69 Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I'm just wondering if anyone has ever stayed at the Leland Hotel. I've heard some really bad things. My birthday is this Saturday, and we're thinking of getting a room... just in case

(I once found a small bag of ancient weed in my bed for example)... but it's ok
CandyQuackenbush Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I've stayed there a few times. Just make sure you DON'T TOUCH THE HEAD BOARDS ON THE WALL! They can fall off and hit your partner on the head! Other than falling objects, I never had a problem.
saechalyn Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 It's a shithole. We had a filthy bathroom with no towels or soap, and I have heard much worse.
odims_sphere Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 it's fine for a place to sleep off an drunkin night. But to actually stay there as like a tourist... uh no
CandyQuackenbush Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 it's fine for a place to sleep off an drunkin night. But to actually stay there as like a tourist... uh no Hey, just how WAS that headboard?
odims_sphere Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 Hey, just how WAS that headboard? I have no idea what you are talking about ;o) Wasn't it your head?
CandyQuackenbush Posted October 2, 2007 Posted October 2, 2007 I have no idea what you are talking about ;o) Wasn't it your head? Hit mine too. But biffed you in the forehead.

creatureofthenyte Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 the MGM grand hotel opens this week. Walking distance to CC! That's cool, but they most likely will charge an astronomical room rate.
saechalyn Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 the MGM grand hotel opens this week. Walking distance to CC! WOOHOO!!!
phee Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 Do you think that the MGM will have a discount rate for drunken horny goths?
Steven Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 It can be a little.... er.... anthropological at times.... (I once found a small bag of ancient weed in my bed for example)... but it's ok you smoked it right? on the rare occasions that I found pot I always offerred a smokey wave offering to the Gods...
phee Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 you smoked it right?on the rare occasions that I found pot I always offerred a smokey wave offering to the Gods... I try not to put anything attached to CC into my lungs... the air has enough....
Steven Posted October 3, 2007 Posted October 3, 2007 I try not to put anything attached to CC into my lungs... the air has enough.... seems reasonable
Scary Guy Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I <3 this thread I also don't even know how people can actually LIVE in that building, as in take up residence there.
slingerlandstyx Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 That's cool, but they most likely will charge an astronomical room rate. Precisely one of the reasons that I haven't quit my job at the comfort inn. Hotel discounts are awesome.
saechalyn Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 I <3 this thread I also don't even know how people can actually LIVE in that building, as in take up residence there. The ones who banged on my room claiming to be "security" seemed to be on too much crack to notice.
odims_sphere Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 It looks as if it was, And prolly could be, a really nice hotel if they would just take care of it.
Head Wreck Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 now theres the clincher. taking care of things = $$$ esp when you have a bunch of pissed up nightlifers crashing through the place on the way to the place thier sleeping
DarkRacer Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 The problem is everytime we fix up everything, and get shit workin like it supposed to, a bunch of random fuckheads come from the suburbs and DESTROY IT!!! Now being that I work there I know 98% of the inner happenings of the building. As far as stuff falling apart, taken care of. Crazy people roaming the halls, on it every weekend. People throwin stuff outta windows, gettin kicked out right after it happens. So we're doin the best we can to make it better, its already known that we can't compete with MGM, MotorCity, Greektown(if it opens) Marriot, Doubletree and etc., but at least its still availible for a decent nite to pass out. And yes I do live there, only tempoary.

And yes I do live there, only tempoary. Doesn't matter, the key word here is diligence. If people break shit then fix it, and if they continue to break it then fix it again. The problem isn't just cosmetic, Mike won't spend a dime on it unless he HAS to. I still say he's a slum lord and until he starts to really care about the place I'll continue to do so. The parts that no one has access too, without public access (that I sneaked into once or twice to look around) are even screwed up almost beyond repair. The fact that it even functions as a building at all let alone one used for the public to stay in is mind boggling. The building should be condemned and I'm guessing that the only money that is put into the place is payoffs to city officials not to do so. It's been moving down hill since well before I started going and the economy went to hell, so lack of funds is no excuse either.
