Brenda Starrr Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Far be it from me to say that my sister and I have gotten along. She's always been kind of uppity, and I'm the wild child. I just got an email from her that really got me: Hey sis, how's it going? I was wondering when you would like to go get tattoos with me. I wanted to go to your guy. You say he's good, right? I don't know if Mom told you. I broke up with Jason this past Sunday. I had to follow my true feelings. I have been miserable with him for a while. I just went along with everything. He is a BIG drinker. He has a problem that he won't admit to or stop. I can't make him stop. I mean he's a sweet guy...I just can't deal with that as I'm not that much of a drinker. Also, I had to beg for sex. Yeah, beg. Can you believe it? Women don't beg. And, yes, there is someone else. But, who knows if that will ever get off the ground. I'm not in any hurry right now for anything. So, I'm on my own again. Seems my way of life. I like the freedom of not having to answer to anyone. You know, I told Mom the other day that I'm kind of jealous of you. You've always been such a free spirit. I've always played it safe. I admire your spirit. You're really kind of cool. Anyway, I will see you tomorrow night at Aunt Florence's. Toni She really got me.....
Marblez Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Yeah, that'lll do it. My sister and I are like that. We get eachother sometimes too.
soothsayer Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 I feel for you Brenda. It's tough when siblings do that sort of thing. My older brother ia always trying to pull stunts. I say just pretend you never read it and if not then pretend your ok with it. If those two options aren't in the cards ~ speak your mind which is what I do when anyone tries to belittle me. Nothing worse than condicending words from someone you think cares about you. :doh
Marblez Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Sooth, I think she got her in an emotional good way. It may be a chick thing
soothsayer Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 :doh Leave it to me to look at things from a mans POV.
Brenda Starrr Posted April 9, 2005 Author Posted April 9, 2005 We spent our entire lives fighting. Once she married her now ex husband, we stopped fighting, but never became close. Somehow, she chose me to be my niece's Godmother, and I chose her for my son. She never knew what is was like to date or marry an addict, as I had. She started dating this seemingly wonderful guy, who she mentioned in her email to me. She also recently found out that he's an alcoholic and ended the relationship. I think that she finally realized that we have more in common than she thought. I don't know. I'm just glad to receive this email from her. =)
soothsayer Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Well, then I guess my post wasn't needed (?) but I'm glad your feeling good Brenda. =)
TomCat Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Sooth, I think she got her in an emotional good way. It may be a chick thing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Chicks intuitions on emotions, pretty much dead on. getting a sibling to own up to their similarities is a priceless thing.
