Forgive me if I don't pay particularly close attention to who DJ's where or when.\

But if you are serious about this, let me know where/when and I will be there.

Haha, well my names Justin. I generally spin in the Metro Detroit area (Ypsi, Westland, occasionally Detroit) so I will keep you posted. I don't generally play the du rigour of any band. My job is to show people whats new and hot in the goth/deathrock/post-punk scene while showing them classics they forgotten...and maybe some Siouxsie and Bauhaus along the way. haha!

hey mang

you should do a classic / old school night...

you would have a good turn out......

since people still yearn for yesterday years jams

maybe this will drawn from the city club crowd that still yearn for the old stuff.....

and the djs could start playin more new stuff without hearing the belly aches of old timers wanting to hear classic tracks.

but hey... that is just me....

people will dance to just about anything at goth nights.

Really? That's not been my experience in clubbing. Most of the time, it seems that the DJ will take a risk, play something new that a lot of people will run away from leaving the dance floor mostly empty at which point it's time to grab an overplayed floor-filler like Panzermensch or Timekiller to lure everyone back.

Admittedly, there are a few people who will dance through damn near anything for 2 hours before going to the bar to get a bottle of water. And God bless them for that.

i know that you have to play floor fillers, I am not saying you should not, but I just think that we shouldnt play ALL the floor fillers EVERY night.

Looking at the request lists and watching people talk to the DJs, I'd like to see people stop requesting the floor-fillers multiple times EVERY night.

Really, you have the song on your iPod with all 30+ remixes of it, you listen to it in your special driving mix CD in the car on the way to the club, then you request it along with the other half-dozen people that have all 30+ remixes and the same driving CD.

*gasp!* So so very many good songs...that you guys hate :( I love them all like my childrenz....but I will say I've heard Military Fashion Show about 8,000 times. I <3 Benni Benassi, he's a techno god to me, but yeah not only does he not quite fit at CC, but pick a better song than Satisfaction (which would pretty much be all of them)...

Whoever mentioned Felix Da Housecat - Money, Success, Fame, Glamour...welllll I shun you. I shun you harder than I've ever shunned anyone in my life, and I shun alot. I think I just love it because it reminds me of Party Monster...and anything that reminds me of Party Monster makes my world go round. Like the sexy song called "overdose" mmm. I'm sorry, I'm a sucker for repetitive techno and I'm not quite sure why...

Oh yeah...and Dead Stars has to go unless I've had at least 2 long islands, so if you do play it at CC, please wait until about 1:30 to ensure I've had the proper amount of beverage.

i only have experience running "alternative club that will do for all" and you never take a chance with those crowds. my hour sets were all on MD labled by the crowd i was looking at and then i spent my time looking busy pouring myself absinthe after absinthe (as i dont trust bar monkeys to get it right ever down here, some just pour the absinthe in a shot glass and hand it to you, no wonder it has a bad rep in these parts as being foul, anyhow, i digress). got bored of it. if you tried something new they possibly didnt know no fucker would dance and everyone would retreat to the alcoves and try thier bestsest to look sulky (it was kinda amusing, emos one side, baby bats the other having a depress-off). i think the longest we got a crowd on the floor for something they didnt know is 2 seconds, when myself and a few of my mates had the crowd chanting for TSOL's code blue during a friends set).

god i dont miss that one bit.

KMFDM. yes i9 like this band a lot, ut i'd throw them in an alternative club over a goth club any day. nowerrdays the metal heads will get on with them better, but theres something about juke joint jezebel. infact i'd say thier more motivational music, just jam on the headphones and get working.

I would love to do a goth night, and have tried, but not many people seem interested. However, if I did do a goth night, it wouldn't just be OLD SCHOOL, because thats like saying goth stopped in 1990. I'd be playing a lot of modern goth/deathrock stuff, as well as psychobilly, anarcho-punk, wave, minimal, mutant disco, etc.

And some folks still like to fancy themselves "goths" And they wonder why they still get clowned.

S'what I dig about you and yours, Justin - you guys are a perceptive and knowledgable group especially for some you being very young. :respect:
