Fierce Critter Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 And it's as bad as you are imagining. And here I am, broke as a bum. I put out a plea on the Yahoo buy/sell/trade groups I'm on to see if I can find someone to sell me one cheap, or trade something I've got to sell on Craigslist right now. This sucks.
Der Nister Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 You can by a tracfone for $10 at kmart or meijer. If you need one quickly that is.
Onyx Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 Take it apart, quick as you can, and dry each and every part you can and leave it in the warmest place in your house (not hot, just warm) and see if it works after it dries out for a few days. I once saved a phone that way. My last phone (just last month actually) went through the washing machine. That one was toast.
Marmee_Noir Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 A few years ago I had a similar situation. The minute I got home I took the phone apart as much as I could and used my hair dryer on the cool setting. Then let it sit over night. Next morning put it all back together and it worked just fine. Just make sure if you try a hair dryer that it's on the "COOL" setting..
Nienna Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 I had a friend drop hers in the toilet too. It took a few days but it did dry oput and work again but the screen was alittle screwed.
Fierce Critter Posted October 13, 2007 Author Posted October 13, 2007 Heh. I had to fish it out and then rinse it off, too. Surprisingly little got inside. I didn't have to take it apart, just opened up the back and the flip front and used my hair dryer on it. It's working fine now, except I'm not sure the charger is getting through. I had it plugged in overnight and it was still dead this morning. Taking a small charge now. Good thing is, I picked up a charger base that can take just the battery alone. So if I have to, I can charge the battery on that.
Rayne Posted October 13, 2007 Posted October 13, 2007 My daughter had her phone attached to her when she fell in a lake this past summer. It was completely submerged for a couple minutes. Surprisingly, we took as much as we could apart and when we put the dried pieces back together, it worked. The microphone faded in and out, and it would sometimes buzz ... so we replaced it anyway, but it did work.
Daevion Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 I pooped my cell in the toilet! trust me I wasn't about to touch it!
