Wanted: Feline Friend...

Anyone know anything about adopting a cat or know someone who has kittens to find homes for?

I was looking at the humane society, but I really don't have the money for the adoption fee's that come with shelters, and I'd much rather adopt from a shelter to save a cat...but they want anywhere from $65-$150.

I mean, I COULD pay SOMETHING, but not even close to that amount.

But here is the catch....I would like something fixed and up to date on shots, since I cannot afford the Vet visits right now.

Any suggestions?

petfinder.com has a section for animals in shelters, but it also has a classified section with people tryingt o find good homes for their pets. They usually DO charge a fee, just to keep out gobus inquiries and the such, and the fee is usually nominal, $25 or so. I would look there.
