I"ll Stop Waiting On Customers Then!

This is a work rant! I am as of right now so pissed at my job! I work as a cashier/customer service at a retail store. Every morning when I go into work I have all this crap that needs to be clean up or put out. As well as wait on all the freaken customers. So today was like every other crappy day there. I come in, told that I have to have all the check out lanes cleaned up and all the dvds and cds put away. Well at the end of the day the manager jump my ass cause the check out lanes were not just so and some candy bars did not get priced! She tells me if she has to tell me again to have the check out lanes clean she is going to call me into the office for a talk. Hey I am like willing to have that talk now! Cause I am crawling around on the floor picking up this and moving that all the while running back to my cash register to ring up some customer! I never stop! So the only other thing I can think of doing is to stop waiting on the customers! Then I will have the time to clean up the check out lanes! I don't know what else to do here? Cause it is non-stop you know. I am only one person, and I can't get all their little crap jobs done for them if I have to stop every few minutes and wait on a customer! But hey, if they are going to jump my ass and accuse me of not doing my job because the check out lane isn’t perfectly straighten then the hell with the customers! They can freaken wait, I'll forces on the check out lanes so they will get off my ass!

Are you the only person on duty in your department ?

You should explain to your boss, like you said, you only have two hands...

If things don't improve, perhaps you should attempt to find a different job.

I work in the retail industry too. I feel your pain when it comes to dealing with customers.

God, I remember that kind of bullshit from my retail days. It was especially aggravating when the same manager who bitched me out was the one paging my ass to the registers every 2 seconds.

I left the place eight years ago but due to money problems I was force to return. Seem in eight years nothing much has changed and it is still the same old crap as before. Well thanks for letting me vent.
