Liberal Bias In The Media

They way I have heard it (in my History of Radio and TV class at EMU), is that "The Media" is not either Liberal or Conservative in any ultimate sense... "The Media" is far to much of a general term to state that it is one way or another... After all "The Media" includes movies, tv, radio, the internet, bill boards, flyers, bumperstickers, t-shirts, newspapers, magazines, brochures, insane people paid to stand on the street corners of campuses and tell you that you are going to hell, etc....

In regaurds to TV though I have heard that consistantly the people who you see on TV (News anchors, actors, etc....) are typically liberal... However the ones behind the scenes financially (owners, sponsors, producers, etc...) are mainly conservative.

Huh...so it is a pretty even playing field, in retrospect.

What is interesting to me is how it got that way in the first place. Not so much repubs getting business power, but dems having more influence in the media. More charisma maybe? That could be it...I mean when most people think of repubs they think of W.O.R.M.s (white old rich men), which isn't necessarily uhmm a tv worthy kind of image to most people, unless we're talking Fox News here. I guess it shall remain...a mystery.

Read my first post... liberals are the one's who tend to challenge authority. Question things.. etc. What's always pissed me off, and felt very anti-compassionate, anti-liberal is when reporters "get the story" but forget about peoples feelings. Like when a person is murdered and the media harasses the family for a quote or whatever.

OK, let me be a bit more specific.

News Media. The News media that claims to be Neutral. The ones that are affected by Federal laws that give them certain protections as long as they stay Neutral.

News Papers

News TV Networks

News Radio Networks

People who can rightfully claim to be journalists.

and Phee... until last year, a majority of the largest newspapers and news outlets were owned by Soros... now it's about even between him and Murdock.

Soros funds Moveon.org

Soros pays millions for advertising to his own companys to promote his liberal ideals. Which I think should be illegal because it amounts to making the newspaper a free outlet to influance the vote with his propoganda. I would need to see his books to see if he is doing it that way though... I mean... he would have to pay for the adds at such a time that most of the add revenue was profit... which would go to the stock holders... him... so her pays $130k for a full page add in one of his major newspapers... then gets most of that back as a dividend check... pays a small tax on the income and gets away with paying $20k for an add that would cost anyone else the full $130k.

Murdock may be doing the same thing... but I have not seen it yet like I have with Moveon.orgs "betray us" add.

In the last few months... you both have denied a liberal bias in the media. Now that a liberal group tried to debunk that myth and found out it was true... you are trying to justify it. Oh so rich...

I have defended the war in Iraq.. but I have never used any of the reasons Bush has given as my motivation.

I have supported the Domestic Spying program and wire taps... but I have also stated i want it done right so as not to trample a US citisens rights.

I supported his tax cuts... for the same reason I supported Reagan's tax cuts and Kennedy's tax cuts. give people money and they spend it. The state governments get thier moeny from Sales tax and property tax.. The feds get thier money from import levys and taxes. Give the people more money and they spend more.. and the goverments get more. Take all the peoples money... they have nothing to spend... but the governments rich.

They have agreed to disarm. They are letting inspectors go where ever they want. They have shut down their reactors.

I also think they are doing things that would not make us happy if we knew about it... like dumping as many of thier nuke tech as they can in other counties.

SS was gutted before he got into office. Our previous President tried to point out what a horrible state it was in when he was president. No one really carerd to listen, so he gave up on it. Bush tried to do something. He at least tried to fix a known problem.

In fact if you take a look at my history I myself have taken plenty of non PC shots at Christians and Christendom in general and lordy have I been on the receiving end of ALOT of anti Xtian rhetoric these last couple of years here on DGN.
