When Kicking Up Dirt Makes A Difference

And what do I mean by saying "kicking up dirt"? Lemme explain.

Last week I answered an ad for labor workers paying 7.50/hr cash (on craigslist). I talked to "Jim" and he gave me the details and when to show up the next day. So I show up on time and work until 4 that day.

Well Jim (the foreman in charge you could say) leaves without saying two words to me and......without paying me. Now mind you - Jim never said anything to me about only paying me after the full job was finished - what I was told that it was a day to day work agreement and he wouldn't promise that he would need me more than one day.

So one can assume with no W2 forms filled out and no employment papers filled out that 7.50/hr cash means what? Paid cash after putting in a full day right? Right.

So I call him and he says "No, I don't pay cash daily - give me a call Monday and maybe I might need you again." I'm thinking bullshit pal, you pay me today and maybe I might want to work for you again. So he says no deal.

So on Sunday I posted an add on craigslist basically saying he's a scam artist that refuses to pay people that answer his ad. Low and behold the next day he sends me an email saying he wants my posting taken down and that he will pay me.

Bitching can sometimes pay off my friends and Jim - is still an asshole.
