Burrich1 Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Check this out. About a week and a half before Halloween, I was cruising around with my girlfriend popping in and out of costume shops trying to figure out what to be for this Halloween Party. We stopped in this place called Halloween Bazaar near M59 and M53, and I saw this awesome Shrine Hollywood vinyl jacked marked 80 bucks. (Plus I had a 20% off coupon) I figured it would be sweet to be Neo and Trinity, which would be cool and we wouldn't be wearing a costume out of a bag. We went off to Hot topic to see if we could find something Trinityish for my girlfriend. Well, she found some stuff she liked, but by the time we were ready to go back to the Bazaar, they were closed. It was Sunday, and I wouldn't be able to make it back until Tuesday after work. No biggie, Tuesday comes, I run in to the Bazaar, and they still have all three jackets left on their rack. I grab one, and take it up to the counter, where it rings up at $240 bucks. (Shrine's price) I tell the cashier there must be a mistake because this coat, the other two coats, and the sign above the rack all say $80. She gets her manager, and I take this kid back to the rack, and show him the prices. This kid actually told me there was nothing he could do. I was like WOW, then I am going to have to make a huge scene and probably get kicked out of the place, but at least I would have a good time doing it. I started calmly explaining the situation, and how I was in before, and other people are now counting on me getting this costume. I included Michigan pricing laws, and how when I walk out of here, I will have this coat for the price it was marked. I got louder and louder, (so the other customers would know what was going on) and this kid got more and more worried, until he finally gave into me and the law and gave me the coat for the price it was marked. And boy did it burn his ass back at the register when I pulled out my 20% off coupon and got the coat for just 67 bucks. LMAO!!! Anyway, as is human nature, I convinced myself I just saved $180 bucks and decided to get a sweet new pair of patented leather lifted tank boots to wear with my costume, and to city club. (Fortunately they were only another $60 online.)
CandyQuackenbush Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 I had boots almost like that. They are comfy.
creatureofthenyte Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 If I got those kind of boots, it would be mainly cuz they would make me even taller lol.
Burrich1 Posted November 8, 2007 Author Posted November 8, 2007 Yeah, being even taller in them rules. Those boots have 3 1/4" lifts. They also came in 5 3/4" but I decided needing to remember to duck when going thru doorways while drinking would be very very bad.
SuZQZ Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 You both looked fantastic. And that you stood your ground on the price is awesome! Good for you!
FarrIL Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Not trying to kill your buzz but those exact boots were 29.99 at Spencer's Gifts. 50% off after Hallowe'en. I only paid 16.96 for the same pair. ;>>

Burrich1 Posted November 8, 2007 Author Posted November 8, 2007 The boots I got were Trashville 518B's. I thought the ones at Spencers were a cheaper version with no padding inside. Anyhow, they didn't have any men's 12's a few weeks ago when I poked my head in.
CandyQuackenbush Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Oh btw, I forgot to tell you, you look pretty damn good in your new outfit.
Homicidalheathen Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Yup....halloween is the best time to shop if your a goth.
