I'm confused... Facebook has always been free, as far as I know, whether single or not. I've never been asked for a fee or anything.

It's primarily a social-networking site, I never heard of them charging anything for it. I got a friend who wants me to get on, but I refuse, because I don't want to get obsessed with it.
