And to get back on track in the thread... TOOLs older stuff, APC (especially Thirteenth Step for me) and now Puscifer's release all hit me deep inside. Obviously not everyone's cup o' tea, but that's what so great about music. Something for everyone which will connect with them, move them, entertain them, impassion them, infuriate them... music is wonderful. Such power to reach so many and evoke so much.

okay, i must say this, in responce to the sliknot and halloween.. they wear the masks so that no one links them to the work they did in previous bands... they all were in bands before sipknot formed... so... yeah... they do it to hide, i guess...

IMO Tool is frickin' fantastic. But then again, I love everything MJK touches, including Cuntry Boner, LOL MJK is one of my all time favorite lyricist/vocalists.

Aerosmith, Oasis, Guns and Roses put out some of the worst drivel of the 20th century.

And HW, you're right Oasis is not even the least bit original. It's pathetic, and annoying.

Aerosmith has become a derivative-of-themselves, desperate band grasping for one last hit single, only too be outdone by Lenny Kravitz's millenium nosedive into shitsville.

And Guns and Roses is just annoying!!!

Though I do like Odims needling us about it, that's far more entertaining than those three.

Tool is wonderful. APC is fine too.

But for legendary bands, like Beatles or Led Zepelin, they should, at the least be accompanied by other slightly lesser-known but FAR-more-influential bands like Velvet Underground, the aforementioned Ramones, or Joy Division.

they'll all kill me for saying this this but to me Maynard is really one dimensional in his vocal abilities and I just don't ever hear anythiing unique or special in it....its just sorta "there"....and tool as a band to me sounds like not much more than Chug - chug a chug chug-chug-chuga a chug chug.....

I did like the first Perfect Circle album though.

go check out the band Misconcieved, a vocal, metal powerhouse in their own right...and Cix is a MUCH better vocalist then Maynard, IMO.

Disturbed, Godsmack, Slipknot, Three Doors Down, every band played on the WRIF that would be classified as "new" - that stupid "Pain" song they keep playing is REALLY getting on my nerves, and it saddens me that Atreyu has made a radio friendly song that IS TERRIBLE. Their guitars are great... but now they ruined it by sing.

It's unfortunate, but the only GOOD song from any newer band thats being played is Killswitch Engage's "Holy Diver" - and THATS a cover.

It's just sad that rock has gotten SO BAD... like... SOOOOO BAD... it's sad... the only time to find anything good on the radio is during Midnight Metal, and even then I am still tortured by retards requesting Korn because they thinks thats metal.
