Disturbed, Godsmack, Slipknot, Three Doors Down, every band played on the WRIF that would be classified as "new" - that stupid "Pain" song they keep playing is REALLY getting on my nerves, and it saddens me that Atreyu has made a radio friendly song that IS TERRIBLE. Their guitars are great... but now they ruined it by sing.

It's unfortunate, but the only GOOD song from any newer band thats being played is Killswitch Engage's "Holy Diver" - and THATS a cover.

It's just sad that rock has gotten SO BAD... like... SOOOOO BAD... it's sad... the only time to find anything good on the radio is during Midnight Metal, and even then I am still tortured by retards requesting Korn because they thinks thats metal.

umm...no..Tool USED to kick ass....thats why they are HAS-BEENS when it comes to anything NOW that is getting play... Please...go find some new music...someone that has a PULSE on what the ppl want today....Tool is just very overplayed and overused and Maynard really has no appreciation for his fans...he cares not if you have very albumn or even a lock of hair...your just a body to him.

If I were your teacher, I'd give you a gold star on that little essay JUST for being correct. Might I add that the song Jambi could lick muh bawls if I had a pair. I can enjoy some old Tool, I will say that to their credit. When you're a kid and you live in normal suburbia, you don't get exposed to much. People diss on things like Manson, Tool, NIN and rightfully so, they're just not up to par with many other bands IMO, but it is where alot of little kids start their uhmm you know their emancipation from preppy. Pretty much the only thing they're good for, a stepping stone to BETTER music. I do listen to NIN to this day though, and everytime I hear certain Manson songs I'll listen to get all nostalgic and shit.

Whoever wrote that song is the Anti-Christ. It's one of the most HORRIBLE pieces of music I've heard in YEARS. That's even taking horrible shit that makes you wonder if there's a God, such as Fall Out Boy, into consideration. If that singer is in so much pain, he should probably off themself

Yes...I was forced to go to a hardcore show like two years ago, I can't remember the band name. Oh yeah, it was Rise Against or whatever. Definately not my cup of tea, I'll tell you that. I was like "hardcore...? Hardcore crap really."

actually...sept for the emo bit of "we are Vampire Angst" that was the theme for much of Atreyu's lyrics, the music itself is actually really good...just drown out the lyrics and pay attention to the music...their is alot of inter-mixed, complex stuff, but they get it to flow very well together.

Listening to Tool is like taking a bat to the head....for 6 years solid....it hurts....doesn't feel right...but after a while...your jsut to numb and brain dead to care....lol

Yes...but there's way more bad bands that also aren't on the top of the list either . I'm just sayin'...

I'm personally indifferent about Tool. I don't really HATE them like I hate emo/screamo or anything, but they're not dazzling by far. I liked them when I was a kid but would never go out of my way to listen to them now, unless it was to remind me of my past (yes, I do actually do that alot, listen to really old retarded stuff just to remember what it was like being a kid. Even includes some pop stuff )

I feel they lack creativity, and care more abot who's going to buy their tickets, or their cd's.

Bands like Kraftwerk, Skinny Puppy, Front Line Assmebly, those are bands that are more about their music and if people like it, then people like it.

Yeah, and I'd have to vouch obviously Kraftwerk and Front Line Assembly, along with Skinny Puppy, make the list of bands that dwarf Tool musically. Like I said, Nine Inch Nails, Manson, Tool, stuff like that are generally starters for kids out in the suburbs (or middle of nowhere) that have no exposure to anything else....YET. Hopefully they don't continue listening to that stuff constantly as they grow compaired to actual good music, but some get complacent in their ways and continue to worship starter bands. I don't HORRIBLY hate them, but there's much better stuff out there. Every so often I'll hear something from a starter band that I still like, but as I get older those songs are becoming more few and far between.
