Homicidalheathen Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 He smells. I don't know what to do. This dog is huge. Its too cold for the hose. He might get sick. He shivers easy. And has artheritis. I REALLY don't wanna take him in the tub with me. I really don't. I will get hair all over and its gross. And he is clumsy beyond belief. He might slip and hurt himself. Snow bath maybe when its snowy?
LuluVox Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Oh man, I'm so glad that didn't turn out to be a euphemism.
nilhil_glory Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 instead of putting him in a bath tub... take a garbagebag and put it over the drain plug... and give him a shower instead clean ups a lot easier
freydis Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Either take him to a groomer, or find one of those self-service doggie wash places.... at least then you have a place to wash and dry him that *isnt* your bathtub.....
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 a garbage bag over the drain.. that really works?
Destroit Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Oh man, I'm so glad that didn't turn out to be a euphemism. My only advice for you HH is just be glad he isn't a cat I couldn't imagine givin' him a bath in the tub would really be that hard, just get on some crappy clothes, grab all the towels in the house, remove all of the breakables from the bathroom and just do it. Or maybe I'm just a little too reckless, if that's not your style then you'll probably have to take him somewhere to get it done or put up with his dog smell until spring.

nilhil_glory Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Very good idea thanks! the shower part anyway.....dunno though its got doors....at least I know he ISN'T ROTTING inside lol having experiance with a huskie and a belgium shep i know how the hair thing is the garbage bag will keep the hair from going down the drain while your giving the dog a shower and that way theres not a tub full of lots water+ hair the less water standing with hair in it makes it easier to scoop up the loose hair
Steven Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 when they stink they stink...you gots to do what you gots to do. I have found that vaccuming hte hair up after a bath works best, its too hard to try to wipe up doggie hair. Ollie REEKED two weeks ago - turned out to be a minor ear infection as the source of the funk-ay. The drops from petland worked great, two days lady there was no more funk. I also bought some doggie foo foo to spray on him occasionally - works wonders. good luck.
Homicidalheathen Posted November 29, 2007 Author Posted November 29, 2007 And so the kids say, mom YOUR dog stinks. Why is it that when there is a dirty job to be done, he is suddenly MY dog?
nilhil_glory Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 shower him... it always helps if you put on a swim suit and hop in with em ^^ their less apt to try to escape
GothicRavenGoddess (3) Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 yup... lol. and then you don't have to go through the hassel of getting all mad cuz you got that icky neon green shampoo stained all over your clothes... lol
