CandyQuackenbush Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 Last night, I had a hard time falling asleep. I just had this feeling that I wasn't going to get much sleep. Yeah, I was uber bummed about the Puppy thing, but I just knew in my heart that Colleen was going to have her son... Today, at 0300 this morning, Colleen's mother called me to tell me that Colleen was in labor. Her water broke at 0230. I was dressed, move two cars and on the road to Mt. Clemens General Hospital by 0310, and at the Hospital walking around trying to get up stairs to the 3rd level by 0419. BTW, I live in Westland, and it takes well over 45 minutes to an hour to get to Chesterfield/ Mt. Clem. area. I got there in under 45.... I drove very fast. Then, after over 11 hours of labor and an emergency C-Section, at 1314 on today, 27 November, 2007, I got to help welcome my Nephew, Caleb Joesph Shmuck Just after he was born. In his warming bed. Oh he's got some lungs on him. Finally with his Mommy. She was so tired. Hey, for being up all day, I think I looked okay...... I didn't have time to take a shower this morning. Come to think about it, none of us did.... I HAS A NEPHEW! Good night, Caleb, Aunt JJ loves you very much.

Thanks Missy! Was all four of them a C-Section?
Rayne Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Thanks Missy! Was all four of them a C-Section? Nope, just the last one. They tried to turn him (he was backwards) to induce in a few weeks and I'd have to wear this band thing to keep him from turning. (I still have the band somewhere), but he went into distress, so they c-sectioned him right then and there. I was soooo scared. I had never even had an epidural ...... Good thing they c-sectioned him. Just under 34 weeks and he was already 8 lbs. 7 oz!

CandyQuackenbush Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 How wonderful. Congrats! And so happy to hear mom and baby are safe and healthy! Yeah she had the shakes from the hormones getting out of her system. But other than that, she's doing good. She didn't want me to leave her. But she understood that I had to go, and I'd see her when she's home and all better.
CandyQuackenbush Posted November 28, 2007 Author Posted November 28, 2007 I just posted every foto I had of Caleb, on my Myspace. www.myspace.com/erasurechicka Look for the album titled: Caleb!
