Destroit Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 That's like putting lipstick on a pig. The whole place needs a serious revamp/upgrade. Clutch Cargo's iLounge is a good model for what the atmosphere should be. A little bigger with more room away from the noise on the dance floor. And please get a sound system that actually sounds good. Yes, as a fellow DGNer once said (I believe it was Saechalyn if I'm not mistaken) when you go to CC it basically sounds like there's a really cool nightclub next door.
odims_sphere Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Yes, as a fellow DGNer once said (I believe it was Saechalyn if I'm not mistaken) when you go to CC it basically sounds like there's a really cool nightclub next door. I've heard Phee say that.
Destroit Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I've heard Phee say that. Kay, I then credit Phee. He is totally right though.
phee Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Seriously... DJ's wonder why at CC they don't like new music??? because they never get to hear it, basically they only dance to what is familiar because they are used to the song enough so that when they hear one muffled part that they can recognize, they rush to the dance floor, close their eyes and try desperatly to remember the rest of the song that they love so much while moving, it's sort of like smelling the oder of a food you used to have and trying to recall how it is supposed to taste... So yeah new music there is never heard... How can you tell if you like a song when you can only hear 15% of the dynamic range?
Destroit Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 Well...I will say this, if CC does close we as DGNers should start our OWN nightclub....at my house. I have this totally kickin' boombox that cost like $50 that would so totally put CC's sound system to SHAME.

Nienna Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 To be the positive annoying one.... Think about it this way. CC may be a shithole, but it's the only goth club there is in Detroit. Everywhere else is just a "night". I know I would sorely miss the place if it ceased to be. There isn't wanywhere else to go on Saturday night to dance to this type of music. (being that I hate Mephistos)
FarrIL Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 For one point, the MGM is quite far from CC. Not FAR far...but TRUST me, if they needed something like extra office space, I'm sure there's plenty vacant or abandoned buildings they could take over before the Leland. Less than a block away is "far"? o0 Honestly, if MGM was willing to pay enough and was also willing to renovate the HELL out of that building, Leland wouldnt be, City Club might still be there, but it wouldnt be the Leland anymore.
nilhil_glory Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 i can see where mgm AND motor city are going to be vamping up pressure to close higgens down they want buisness themselves for their new night clubs they dont care about the music being played or our certain style TO THEM all people are a statistic and if any sort of competition for their buisness can be shut down that they may bring in a few CCrs then thats what they will do even tho i highly doubt any of us would go to iether casinos clubs due to the uber suckage of 999.9% of top forty i wouldnt doubt if those two clubs specifically sent in"undercover" people to look for code violations to specifically report them to the city building dept.
bav Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 i wouldnt doubt if those two clubs specifically sent in"undercover" people to look for code violations to specifically report them to the city building dept. I remember when someone 'undercover' at CC meant cops, not casino shills.
Destroit Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 So...nilhil, What you're saying is that we need to burn down the MGM? Farril, muh bad, I suck. I didn't know it was that close, I thought it was at least 2 - 3 blocks away.
Daevion Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 well if the owner actually spent some money on upkeep!!.....whatever
perception7 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Probably is just a rumor. It' s my new saturday night club.
nilhil_glory Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 So...nilhil, What you're saying is that we need to burn down the MGM? hahaha that didnt quiet come out of my mouth but im not saying that, im not saying it
CandyQuackenbush Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Probably is just a rumor. It' s my new saturday night club. It's the yearly rumour. You don't have to worry. Every year, someone else say's "Hey, did you hear about CC?" The everyone is in a hussy for abit until we forget about the rumour, and we keep going there.
hunhee Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 hahaha that didnt quiet come out of my mouth but im not saying that, im not saying it you gotta believe that they're insured to the hilt..It wouldn't matter. You'd just slow them down a little.
Nienna Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 you gotta believe that they're insured to the hilt..It wouldn't matter. You'd just slow them down a little. True. Like The D needed another casino. Why couldn't they bring in some real business so people could hav JOBS so there would be more employed people, so there could be less crime. Destroying Detroit's traditional haunts isn't the answer.... *goes off to rage a bit*
Destroit Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I heard that CC is actually a dance club.... Psssht suuure. I swear, Phee, the things you come up with sometimes.

Destroying Detroit's traditional haunts isn't the answer.... *goes off to rage a bit* There is no answer. Detroit is Detroit and should always been nasty, ghetto, sleezy, abandoned Detroit IMO. If you wanna see fancy buildings and some ritzy ritz city, then move. That's what I usually say to peoples .
ZhukovCodeslinger Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 ... I never heard these rumors when they could consistantly pay the bills (i.e. they had enough customers to fill the place up)
CandyQuackenbush Posted December 14, 2007 Posted December 14, 2007 I wonder how they will make profit next weekend, I think my house will have all their customers there on Friday night, that people might not have the party life left in them for Saturday night!
