Hello Cory

This has been an evolving saga that started this Friday and has brought me a great deal of joy.

The story is Hello Cory by Kyt Dotson (moi) and thou can read the text here. It's basically contemporary fan fiction written to build on Cory Doctorow's evolving folklore (red cape, goggles, and a hot-air-balloon heroism.)

Here's a small snippet of the text so that thou can choose if it's worth following that link:

"Who did you piss off?”

“The MAFIAA.”

I’d heard that acronym before, but I don’t run in quite the right circles to fully grasp its significance. Elaine would rant about how they were collectively destroying music and movies and treated everyone like criminals.

He went on. “The MPAA and the RIAA will certainly want to intercept me. This is why I’ve been traveling by night with the camouflaged balloon. I had to leave it a few miles back.” An expression of sorrow crossed his face. “I figured that I was flying in the right direction, but I lost my star fix and had to slow down to get my bearings. That’s when they fell upon me. Dark shapes like wicked fingers slashed out of the night from all directions, I tried to out run them with the phlogiston overdrive…but the fiends had struck the boiler and then it ruptured.”

The saga goes something like this.

First, I got over my timid shyness about self-promotion and actually sent the story to Cory Doctorow (who is the star of this particular fan fiction) and he published it on his blog. This was all well and good because it meant the original recipient and tribute person received it and actually read it.

Then something interesting happened, a reader of his blog decided to make an audio adaptation of the story!

So, of course, those who don't feel like reading it (or don't have the time) can just listen to it.

      ~~~~~ Whenever I had an interview, I would be honest with the interviewer and actually say stuff like, "I talk a lot when I'm nervous", or I would ask if it was ok to speak candid during the interview or if I needed to stay professional.  Then I would wait to see what direction the interaction would go in.
      I'd probably cry everytime someone had to be disciplined. I'd end up approving everyone's time off request and working all by myself lol.  I do have an interview at a drug rehab, though. I hate interviews, I freeze and take forever to get to the point lol. I kinda want to go to another state and just try something new, though but my kids..maybe they would visit more,  though 🤔 😅 they're busy doing adult stuff and I'm still treating them like they're little.  It drives them crazy. Lol I think I drive them crazy. Lol
