Remember, we are just talking about survival, not elegance. Slowing the descent to about 20 to 25 miles an hour would be bone-jarring, but a person could take that. It wouldn't be pretty, but it doesn't need to be.

Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 You are forgetting weight limits, the affects of heat on the chute causing a need for insulation from the engine, air drag and mass distribution. You can't just strap a chute on it. It fixes one problem by creating a dozen more.
