Help!

Long story short, my boyfriend's mother has been living in California for the past two years. She just lost her husband and caretaker. She has a lot of medical problems and my boyfriend doesn't feel that she can take care of herself and wants to bring her back to Michigan with him. She is adamant that she won't come without her 2 dogs.

My boyfriend, my cat and I live in an already cramped one-bedroom apartment and there's no way we can take on another person and 2 dogs. She is not able to work, but she does receive some type of social security income.

Does anyone have any advice on where I could look for something for her? I would prefer some sort of assisted living, but I don't know if she could afford it, or if we could find one that would take her dogs. My boyfriend is currently in CA with her, so it's pretty much up to me to try to look for something, and I don't even know where to start.

try talking to the people her age, like at a Denny's or a red hat society, they would have some good ideas
