i'm sure its wa due to a rare phenomenon in the US called an "incline" the drivers fearing that thier car was being swallowed up by the earth dived for safety.

its a bit like what happens when you put a blue sky here and watch the locals react. theres a church on every other corner and a pub taking the remainder for such days, the saints pray for forgivness and beg the sky not to fall, the sinners go drink themselves oblivious to the apocolypse
