Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 cause it tried to kill me. I went out to the garage to rearrange things so the bikes I bought the boys would fit. I moved a box and saw a small snake. It was perhaps 9-10 inches long. I thought it was a corn snake. about the time I realized "Oh crap, thats a small diamond back!" as I saw it's tail going (young ones dont have rattles) it stuck... about 5 times. Thank God for my good taste in footware. The chances of it's survival of our meeting went down 25% with every strike.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted December 25, 2007 Author Posted December 25, 2007 It went something like this... "Dear, hand me that square headed shovel." CLANG snake minus head.
Fierce Critter Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Eep. Remembers how much she hated Florida and loves Michigan.
hunhee Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Ugh.. I'm learning to respect snakes, because my friends have snakes, and I've had them in my hands and stuff, but I still get a little creeped out. Which is weird, because I have no problems with my lizard. but a really WILD and Poisonous snake, should be DEAD if in my living area..hehe EEP!!
Head Wreck Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 i like living in britan. all we have to watch out for is the odd common adder which tend to slither away as soon as they hear you. there was a panic at my site last year when one of the marshals ran away screaming from a false adder (a smooth snake, rare and protected breed here) which got much pistaking from me on his over reaction, because snakes in this country may make you itt for a while or hurt when they bite and that's it
Destroit Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 WHEW! This will sound really uhmm species selective, but thank God it wasn't a mammal. I woulda been sad. My friend Eric one time had to kill a possum one time (and if you know me, you would know that possums are my favorite animal next to rats. Hmmmph, wonder why ) because his dog got it and I didn't sleep for a week Yeah I woulda smashed that snake to bits, especially if he was trying to attack. It's sad, but if it's you or him then it's survival of the fittest. Kinda like the time my gramma tried to get me to get a brown recluse spider out of her window pane, she loves spiders and I generally don't mind them. Obviously I told her she was damn crazy and that I have seen what their bites do (my friend Rob got nailed on the forearm by one a year ago) and I'm like "hmmm gramma, thnxnothnx" so she asks "well? What would you do if you had this thing in your house" and I immediatly spit out "Uhmmm call the fucking US army? I mean duh, or at least 911 "
ManicQueen Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 Good to hear you're ok and the snake is dead!
