I remember about ten years ago trying to buy beer on Christmas, and I ended up getting it in Canada. (yes, I was on a mission.)

Actually this Christmas is also the only year I've noticed it, but then again I'm 22 now and have only been buying for a year so that would explain why I haven't noticed.

I do think that's total bullshit, to me that's church and state getting a little to cozy with each other, especially since they don't do anything of the sort for other religious holidays only the Christian one.

Odd. First time i ever heard of this.

It's a holdover from olden days...one of the few blue laws still around. Just no one bothered to try to change it.

I knew about this and I actually agree with it.

Its a family holiday and I agree that people drink on that holiday but I think that its good that they dont actually sell it on that day.

I think that maybe it has to do with the fact that getting drunk wasnt really acceptable in Christ's time .

Thats just how I feel.

Bah humbug!

The problem with it is that Christmas is a religious holiday. Why if you don't celebrate Christmas should you be restricted from buying it?

Seems like a clear violation of church and state. If they are going to do it, it should also be for Kwanza, Chanukkah etc.

You can't honestly mean that.

Ramadan is like a MONTH long and I'm pretty sure you don't actually want to make it HARDER to get your drink on, do you?

Ummm...I didnt know that.

I cant say that I know that much about other religions.

That would be hard for me to say the least.

I actually think it's because lots of people get depressed around the holidays, and "big brother" thinks their doing us some kind of public service by not allowing us to dround our depression in a bottle. Like their cutting down on the number of negative incidents directly related to our health and well being because we can't spontaneously pick up a fifth of something. All I have to say about that is plan ahead my brothers. Plan ahead.

exactly what I was thinking. So what if they don't let it be sold, it's just a minor inconvenience. And it's been like this for years now.... it's nothing new.

Other religious holidays? Do you have any idea how multicultural Michigan is? You could buy a beer like, on one day in April.

My alcoholic buddy is soo funny....he calls me the day of, and asks if I am prepared like he is cause he already got his bottle the day before....so at least I have people I can turn to in times of need lol I know they always have booze on hand.

You think That is fucked up ?

Here in CT, you can only buy beer/alcohol from stores from 8am-9pm, Monday-Saturday only. No Sunday, No holidays.

I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't care.
