Kit Kat P Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 So I got Photoshop 6 and this is my first one. I was wondering if anyone (such as Marc) could give me some hints or recommend a good teaching book. I've always used other peoples programs to play around w/ pic.s and am fairly handy around a computer so I'm not too worried about the learning curve. Thanx in advance.
Fierce Critter Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Holy fuck. They're up to 6? I have CS2, and I knew they have CS3, but I had no idea they were up to 6. As for learning, I taught myself almost entirely, except for using the tutorial that came with what I learned on - Photoshop the First - yeah, dating myself again. If they have a tutorial, use it. Also, YouTube has some how-to videos I believe. Give it a shot.
Reaper Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 They are up to Photoshop 7 and CS3 now. They also have a book out there for each mod called Photoshop # for Dummies. I have Photoshop 7 myself but haven't used it in quite some time. I even took a class in college to learn using photoshop. Usually any modifications I use anymore are from Compupic.
Msterbeau Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Erm... Photoshop 6 is four versions old. CS3 is more like Photoshop 10. My favorite books are the "Wow" series. Maybe you can get one for that version on EBay or something. Just start poking around and you'll discover all sorts of wonderment. If you have specific questions, I should be able to answer them...
Kit Kat P Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 I know it's not the newest, I don't care I'm still kinda geeked. I can't wait for some time off w/ a cup of coffee so that I can start learning it. I will be taking you up on that Marc, and thank s for the book recommendation, I was looking at about 5 differ books and didn't know if any of them were any good. Down the road are there some upgrades I may want to consider getting?

I wouldn't bother until you get to know the program. And then I'd invest in finding a newer version before I add anything.
Kit Kat P Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Okay cool. I know it way early but... what are the significant differences between photoshop elements and CS
