Give Me A Middle Name

My first name is Camille. I was given the middle name Ann, and I never liked it.

When I married and changed my last name, I wasn't allowed to change my middle name legally, but I was allowed to drop it. So I did.

I've toyed with the idea of legally adding a middle name. But I've never come across a name I've felt strongly enough about to go through with it.

So, for a little fun, suggest a middle name for me. I don't state my last name on the net, but if you look up the definition for "baby goose", you'll know what it is. Seriously - that's my last name.

And yes, I am horribly bored right now...

Valefor sounds cool, I got it where I've been getting most of my names for fictional stuff, a comprehensive demonology list. :peanutbutterjellytime:

Piper! I always loved the name Piper. It's sassy.

What are you looking for? Something romantic? Something fun?

Let's see...

I've also always liked Aloysius...not so much for a girl though.

This is fun!!!

Or Rose! I love the name Rose! Camille Rose...sounds nice together.

I got lucky with my name.

My Mother had two girls. *and her mom and dad are pretty much 100% English, and my Mom loves History* So when my Sister, Liz was born, my Mom named her Elizabeth, because of Queen Elizabeth. Although she gave Liz a common Middle name, Marie.

Now when I was born, my Mother wanted to keep up with the Royalty names. So she wanted to name me Maragret. You know, Queen Elizabeth's sister, who is Princess Margaret.

When she told my Dad, my dad looked at her and said, "Margaret? Margaret Knight? That doesn't sound very good."

My Mom looks at him and says "But we can call her Maggie for short."

My Dad: "Maggie, isn't that a dog's name?"

Needless to say that they didn't go with Margaret, and my Dad told her about the name Jessica. She liked it because then they could give me the last name I have now. Louise. My Mom to this day still calls me "Jessie Lou".

I didn't know this until I went to Iraq for the first time, but my middle name "Louise" means "Female Solider".

But back on topic, I've always liked the name Lydia.

My middle name is Rae, named after my father, Raymond.

One day I'll legally put the y and the n in there.

I've always liked Grace as a middle name. My kids have all normal middle names LeAnn, Marie, James and Alexander.

Weird, I actually didn't read your post until after my last comment! I just love the name Louise, and have decided that it's my cat's middle name. My cat, who has a very similar name as FC -- Camilla.

Lenore maybe...?

Oh my goth! Always been a gothy sounding name to me...

I'm bad with naming things. I'm so bad that if I have a daughter I'm going to name her Otis. You'd all like to think that I'm kidding, wouldn't you?

When I got my divorce, I had the option of changing my last name. To be a smartass, I almost penciled in "Starrr."

But, this isn't about me. Your middle name should be "LaRue." Say it with the rest of your name....

Funny you mention that. I knew someone once who knew a Camille Rose. Pretty, but not me.

What am I looking for? HellifIknow. Seriously. I haven't a clue. I just never liked Ann 'cause I thought it was too plain mixed with a more unusual name like Camille.

I have considered making Remi - often used as an abbreviation in our family for what used to be my maiden name - an official middle name. But I'm not set on it.

I've always been rather attached tot he name Lucretia.

That's pretty. I've always felt a weird "ownership" of some kind to the SOM song... Ponders...

I've always liked Grace as a middle name.

LOL. I'm laughing because at one time, I gave all my hamsters human-names that I just plain liked. And one of them was Grace. I do like that name.

Something French to go with your lovely French first name... Maybe Elise? Or... Juliet? How about Violette? Perhaps Blancheflor? Mmmmm... Felinete?

The French idea is a good one. I do like that my name has it's origin in either Latin (the male form Camillus) or the romance languages.

Elise is very pretty, and reminds me of the Cure song. Blancheflor? Are you KIDDING? LOL

Now, Felinete - I would guess that in some way means feline/cat. Now THAT I REALLY like. I assume it's pronounced Fihl-a-NETTE? I could change that a bit to be spelled Filinette or Filineta... I'm really liking that...

Camille Louise!

I do love old-fashioned names like that. Names reminiscent of the wise-cracking red-haired tall girl in the "gang" in the 50's. It's funny that you hadn't read Candy's post before posting that.

If she gets my middle name, then its one step closer to her being my clone!!!! Hahahaha. *FC, you know what I'm talking about*

Yes, yes I do!!! :D But I'd prefer the "step" of cloning your body shape to the step of sharing a name w/you!

When I got my divorce, I had the option of changing my last name. To be a smartass, I almost penciled in "Starrr."

Oh, YOU SHOULD DO IT THIS TIME!!!! Srsly!

Your middle name should be "LaRue." Say it with the rest of your name....

That is hawt. Re-read the part about the tall, wisecracking redhead above...

One thing though. I've never been crazy about my middle name starting with the same "L" sound my first name ends with. It makes saying them together smoosh together too much. But I love the vibe of that...

And Lorrel or Laurel is pretty, but ditto the "L" thing I just said.

Keep 'em coming, gang. You're actually giving me SERIOUS things to consider here. I started this thread out of boredom, but I really think I might pick something from all this shared musing and add a middle name this year. :D

Yes.. I was kidding about Blanchflor.

I saw Felinete on that site I linked to and thought "THAT'S IT!!!!" It's perfect for you. I'd pronounce it Fehl-ee-NETTE ... Whichever...

How about a form of Ann (French of course, to go with your first name), like Annalise or Annette?

Camille Annette I think goes very well with your last name.

I still think that Camille LaRue sounds perfect.

Camille Scarlet sounds nice or Camille Michelle

That was my great grandmother's name - such an awesome name!

Camille Alexandria

Camille Frederique (with accent marks over the first 2 e's)
