The_Dark Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 So, we have had the whole music at your funeral, theme music, sound trak to your life... the whole shabang... except one... Your dead, the movie is over, people are leaving the theator.. whats playing while the credits role?
JaneDead Posted April 16, 2005 Posted April 16, 2005 actually in real life at my funeral i want "on eagle's wings" to be one of the songs to play. i went to catholic school and heard that song alot and i knew even then that i wanted that song to play when i died. i was like only 7 or 8 when i thought that too. how morbid. i think it is terribly religious even though i am not. and then also the poem "do not stand at my grave and weep" and probably "imagine" by john lennon for a few different reasons. i have answered this one before and i can't remember what i said? i really have no idea what the ending credits could be to my life. i guess i will just go with "imagine" by john lennon.
The_Dark Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 I should prolly give my answer... See that my grave is kept clean - Dream Syndicate
SomeDanGuy Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 I don't know, but I'm going to make it illegal right now to say "Another one bites the dust" by Queen. You can do better people!
TearSandrille Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Just for the cheese value. Simple Minds - Don't You
soothsayer Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Mine would be These are the days of our lives by Queen Sometimes I get to feelin' I was back in the old days - long ago When we were kids when we were young Things seemed so perfect The days were endless we were crazy we were young The sun was always shinin' - we just lived for fun Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don't know The rest of my life's been just a show Those were the days of our lives The bad things in life were so few Those days are all gone now but one thing is true When I look and I find I still love you You can't turn back the clock you can't turn back the tide Ain't that a shame? I'd like to go back one time on a roller coaster ride when life was just a game No use in sitting and thinkin' on what you did When you can lay back and enjoy it through your kids Sometimes it seems like lately - I just don't know Id better sit back and go with the flow Cuz these are the days of our lives They've flown in the swiftness of time These days are all gone now but some things remain When I look and I find no change Those were the days of our lives- yeah The bad things in life were so few Those days are all gone now but one thing's still true When I look and I find I still love you I still love you I want this song played at my funeral.
TomCat Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Yes, Queen could cover my parting shot with,"Another One Bites The Dust."

Shade Everdark Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I think for now I'll go with the Godspeed You Black Emperor! track Storm.
LuluVox Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I think Siouxsie and the Banshees: Partys Fall (yes, it's spelled that way) Your parties fall around you Another night beckons to you Your parties fall around you Another night beckons to you Shadows loom as you resist the gloom Faded hues issue forth and bloom A bed of leaves for a lover Awake with a kiss and rise asunder And when the party's over You retreat in a realm of slumber In your mind, crystal lights rebound Wheels spin round and you hear the sound Of autumn's call at party's fall Through rose-tinted glass you still remember The gladness, not sadness, only laughter In your mind vicious lights rebound Wheels spin round and you hear the sound Of autumn's call at party's fall The smile in the mirror grows weaker The laughter you heard is growing fainter Your parties fall around you The night forgets to rouse you Your party's fall astounds you An aura of sadness abounds you Glad rags sigh Maybe you're alone inside, don't hide Hurting all the time, hurting deep inside, don't cry My happiness depends on knowing this friend is never alone On your own A party on our own We'll have a party all our own inside No sighs
Goth Brooks Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 The same that was played at my grandfather's funeral and will be played at my father's. Jimmy Buffett - Lovely Cruise Drink it up, this one's for you It's been a lovely cruise I'm sorry it's ending, oh it's sad, but it's true Honey, it's been a lovely cruise These moments we're left with May you always remember These moments are shared by few There's wind in our hair and there's water in our shoes Honey, it's been a lovely cruise Ohhh, these moments we're left with May you always remember These moments are shared by few And those harbor lights, lord, they're coming into view We'll bid our farewells much too soon So drink it up, this one's for you Honey, it's been a lovely cruise Yeah baby, it's been a lovely cruise Oh darlin', it's been a lovely cruise
Neptunebaby Posted July 1, 2005 Posted July 1, 2005 actually in real life at my funeral i want "on eagle's wings" to be one of the songs to play.i went to catholic school and heard that song alot and i knew even then that i wanted that song to play when i died. i was like only 7 or 8 when i thought that too. how morbid. i think it is terribly religious even though i am not. and then also the poem "do not stand at my grave and weep" and probably "imagine" by john lennon for a few different reasons. i have answered this one before and i can't remember what i said? i really have no idea what the ending credits could be to my life. i guess i will just go with "imagine" by john lennon. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "On Eagles Wings" makes me cry every time I hear it. It was played at my grandfathers funeral. I think it's a beautiful song. I too went to a Catholic school and have actually become Catholic in the past year. I know.. crazy, huh? A true practicing Catholic on the DGN and going to CC. I don't think it really matters though. Anyway.. good choice. As far as what song I would choose.. it would have to be one performed by Elvis Presley. I am a huge Elvis freak - in fact my site (http://www.neptunebaby.com) will soon be changed to a wonderful Elvis theme - and I have managed to accumulate thousands of dollars worth of Elvis collectables, memorabilia, etc.. I'm slightly obsessed. So, perhaps this would be the song.... listen And now the end is near So I face the final curtain My friend, I’ll say it clear I’ll state my case of which I’m certain I’ve lived a life that’s full I’ve traveled each and every byway And more, much more than this I did it my way Regrets, I’ve had a few But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do And saw it through without exception I planned each charted course Each careful step along the byway Oh, and more, much more than this I did it my way Yes, there were times, I’m sure you know When I bit off more than I could chew But through it all when there was doubt I ate it up and spit it out I faced it all and I stood tall And did it my way I’ve loved, I’ve laughed and cried I’ve had my fails, my share of losing And now as tears subside I find it all so amusing To think I did all that And may I say, not in a shy way Oh, no, no not me I did it my way For what is a man, what has he got If not himself, then he has not To say the words he truly feels And not the words he would reveal The record shows I took the blows And did it my way The record shows I took the blows And did it my way
Guest Game of Chance Posted July 3, 2005 Posted July 3, 2005 Wow...this is a toughie...I really can't think of anything at all... except for The Misfits - Where Eagles Dare, which is totally inappropriate
Killer_Bunnie Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 for me that's easy, I want my friends to go to lab, get drunk off Jack and coke for me since I would no longer be able to and have them play my favorites from the club ending with apops love never dies, like we did for Chuck. I want happy memories, but I need bagpipes played at the end, anything but danny boy, I want them to play what my friends request. What do I really care as long as I end in a party, the way it should be. I've had alot of time to think about this, and it's all written out already, as morbid as that may seem to some, it's what I want.

holliwood66 Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Either: Bach Cello Suite #1 G major (My absolute favorite cello piece of all time) or Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley Well I heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord But you don't really care for music, do ya? Well it goes like this : The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift The baffled king composing Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Well your faith was strong but you needed proof You saw her bathing on the roof Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya She tied you to her kitchen chair She broke your throne and she cut your hair And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Baby I've been here before I´ve seen this room, I've walked this floor, I used to live alone before I knew you I've seen your flag on the marble arch Love is not a victory march It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah There was a time when you let me know What's really going on below But now you never show it to me do ya And remember when I moved in you The holy dove was moving too And every breath we drew was Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Maybe there's a God above And all I've ever learned from love Was how to shoot at somebody who outdrew ya And it's not a cry you can hear at night It's not somebody who's seen the light It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah
