The first magnetic hard drive was developed by IBM in 1956. It was 4.4 megabytes in capacity.

Fifty years, we have been using magnetic disk drives. We will probably be using them for another fifty. However, they are most certainly no longer king.

i'm all for the technology, less power usage, quicker read speeds.

i like the current samsung drives for notebooks but the write speed is horrendous
