DJ Saint Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 My new stuff tip is Memmaker had been playing "Get your ass to Mars" a lot at the club from the C.O.M.A CD but the bands full-length is finally out http://www.memmaker.ca/ fun robotik-industrial-sci-fi
Homicidalheathen Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 They were ok. I thought their songs all sounded a bit alike.

Always got my ear open for good music. Been also digging Punch Inc. - Fight Club Teckno Killers - Teckno Killah 12" (Lenny Dee and Randy) side B's Millano Mix is fierce clip here --> http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/296746...eckno%20Killers Tymon - "Feed" 12" Totally looking forward to the new ESA, Autoclav, and especially Xotox. There are nights I wish I was back at City to play this stuff, but then I realize all they'd want to hear is KMFDM and wolfsheim over and over and over again... *sigh*
jadnifer Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 I really like the album cover of Deathkey where the D-E-A-T-H keys are all missing. That was a cool idea.
Darus313 Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 Dropping by City Club this friday nite. Maybe the Djs will play the cds i picked up D?
Meta Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Dropping by City Club this friday nite. Maybe the Djs will play the cds i picked up D? WHOA! Didn't know you were going to be in town - I've got opening shift and am spinning with Void 6, so come early for the harshness; I usually tame it down for my second set. Come say hi, haven't seen you in a couple years!

DJ Saint Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I really rate these... www.myspace.com/futurekingsandqueens The hair, the synths, the vocals... it's like Flock of Seagulls AGAIN 28 years later...
Darus313 Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 Hmmmmmmmm Shades of EMO...touch of synthPOPPIE ness and early 80s sound. Something you find at hot topics cd bin. D
DJ Saint Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 HmmmmmmmmShades of EMO...touch of synthPOPPIE ness and early 80s sound. Something you find at hot topics cd bin. D Check it - http://www.myspace.com/polyphobic
Darus313 Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 Polyhobic is the shit.... Love it...... (Turning point kick@ss) D -/ absolutely no trace of EMO in it..!
Darus313 Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 Pssssssssst........ New stuff from N U E S S........really dig it..! http://www.myspace.com/neuss Damn - When are they going to be releasing something? D
DJ Saint Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Pssssssssst........ New stuff from N U E S S........really dig it..! http://www.myspace.com/neuss Damn - When are they going to be releasing something? D Noticed that. Here's an odd thing - the old profile said they were two women from Washington DC, but the new profile now list it as Frank and Dr. Myer (aka Daniel from Haujobb!!!) from Germany. Wonder if the initial tracks and band idea was handed over to those guys to further develop? Indeed the release has been a long time coming, but really looking forward to it. ALL the Pro-Noize stuff gets my attention and approval by the way http://www.dobi.nu/emo/ LOLCOPTER!
the eternal Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 I really rate these... www.myspace.com/futurekingsandqueens What does I really rate these mean?? How do you rate them?? Two snaps up in a circle? Anyhoo, I don't car what you think, I'm always down for some throwback newwave. Even if it's a little gay. I'm sorry. That shit's like candy for me. It's too pure to the source material (80s new wave/romantic) to be called emo. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- That said, I love this other stuff. It's a lot harder than most of the stuff I'm used to hearing at CC. And I like hearing harder stuff to dance to at CC The only problem with something extremely noise-y like NEUSS and Polyphobic is, how the f&^% do you dance to it?? This is the stuff that drives people back to the hallway to chat. It's great music, but I'd keep it out of the club. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Needless to say, there's no such problem with Espermachine. Now opening for Covenant at a dive club near you. As for the best compromise IMHO, I'd say Electronic Substance Abuse Hopefully we'll hear a bit more of them. (I think Polyphobic has the most skills though) Regardless, ANY of this is better than the Dope Show by Marilyn Manson. Why play that at City? To get people to buy more drinks?? Sometimes I just don't understand the set list.
Darus313 Posted February 25, 2008 Author Posted February 25, 2008 the eternal Good to hear your opinion........ I have no problem wad you think.... everyone has there own taste in music..... Music to be played at City Club... well that one is left up to the Djs at City Club... We can talk about what we like till we are blue in the face... but it comes down to the Djs and their taste of music....and wad is moving the crowd...... Me i just offer what i have been exposed to and works for me when i dj......(I don't dj in Detroit - mainly Chicago) Oh the hard stuff.... packs the dance floor from my observation and have you seen "You Got served...!" Datz how you dance to the hard stuff..... D
