ttogreh Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 First, read this. If you are not in the mood to read the link, a group of Arizona high school students spent 7,000 man hours (292 days) and 23,000 dollars to create a diorama of the last battle of the civil war. They used a book by Jeffrey Hunt to develop it. After it was finished, they donated it to the Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry in Austin. Jeff Hunt, the new director of the museum... ordered it dismantled. He cited "historical inaccuracies" as his decision to do so. That's right. A museum dismantled a work of art. A museum director ordered a piece of art to be dismantled. A piece of art developed from his own book. Oh, you aren't outraged? Well, I think you should be.
Msterbeau Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 What an arrogant dick. 1. Why did it need to be dismantled/destroyed? 2. Why didn't he make note of inaccuracies and try to have them fixed, assuming they were so wrong that history was misrepresented. 3. Maybe he better check his own book if they used it as a guide....
Destroit Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 What a dick. Probably the type of arrogant cockhole that walks around with his head in his ass smelling his own damn farts all day. Unbelievable how rude the world is starting to become...what a good example to teach those kids, right?
DeadBurgerKing (10) Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 I have no words...I...I just can't form the ones I want to use to properly describe my disgust and anger at reading this...
Kit Kat P Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 That's horrible. It looks like they not only failed to pay for it, they aren't even letting the teacher have it back.
jadnifer Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 There are just no words to describe how incredibly upset this makes me. Let's say there was something wrong with it. Why couldnt he fix it or send it back to the kids explaining why it was inaccurate and have them fix it? Wanna know why? Because he feels like he is big shot now even though he is the biggest dick in the world and the work of art was based off of HIS book. Maybe he was just pissed off that the information is his book was inaccurate. That is in NO way an excuse to destroy all the hard work that they put into this. You had better believe that if I had helped work on that, that I would be uber pissed.
