jadnifer Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 If Hilary wins the election would she be able to make Bill her VP if she wanted to? I don't think that she can, but I'm not totally for sure on this.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Even Bill has said it's un-constitutional. When you read the constitution, you are sopposed to rad the whole document... not just the part that directly applies. The Constitution defines the requirements and qualifications to be president. It then goes on to say that the Vice President has to meet the same requirements and qualifications. An amendment to the Constitution limits the President to two terms in office... Constitutional lawyers, and Bill.. say this means he cant be vice President.
jadnifer Posted February 22, 2008 Author Posted February 22, 2008 I have never read the Constitution so I didn't know this information. Thank you for letting me know. I appreciate it.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 OMG. you need to at least read the Pre-amble and the Bill of Rights. Now!!!!
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
Msterbeau Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 So having served as president bars him from holding the vice-presidency? Aren't they two different offices? I'm curious how that works. Not that I'd want to see him there, in any case.
jadnifer Posted February 22, 2008 Author Posted February 22, 2008 I do remember reading the passage that you posted in my government class in high school. I was taking that class in 2000, the year of GWB first term in office. Thank you for posting a link to the constitution. I do not have time to read it right now, but I will read it in the future.

If you are disqualified for one, your are disqualified fro the other.
creatureofthenyte Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I don't think it would really matter if Bill became VP. I think that if Nurse Ratched were to become president, that she would be nothing more then a figure head in the oval office, with Bill pulling her strings on his psuedo 3 term in office.

You should find time to read it. And you should also read the Declaration of Independence if you have not had a chance to yet. Quite a powerful statement when you consider what they were trying to do and the circumstances in which they were doing it.
