Msterbeau Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Beautiful. And I mean it's performance. Fuck loading up cars with all the crap they have now. Lightweight + aerodynamics + efficient engine is where it's at. Of course... I want a GT. Still pretty slow, but acceptable.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 But the Loremo is not a car for dreamers; not only will it enter mass production next year, it will sport a base price attainable by mortal motorists: 15,000 euros (about U.S. $22,000). That there is the money shot. If that price is realistic, we are good to go within a decade or so when theres used versions on the market for 5 grand.
torn asunder Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 i'll wait to see the crash tests vs. a hummer... (don't get me wrong - i love both the concept, and the car, but...)
Msterbeau Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Home page... http://evolution.loremo.com/content/view/13/47/lang,en/ Very interesting technically.. Definitely my kinda car. Just needs some minor aesthetic alterations.
Msterbeau Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 i'll wait to see the crash tests vs. a hummer... (don't get me wrong - i love both the concept, and the car, but...) Check out the link I just posted. There's no doors in the side for a reason. Besides... You get manuverability with a light chassis like that. And if you're gonna die... you're gonna die. I'd rather have the mileage.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Partly the reason why we have such shitty fuel economy is the "Arms Race" a.k.a. The Biggest Dicksize Contest.© Of which i was once a regular contestant. Regardless of the engine, a larger structure is going to be (by comparison) a fuel sucker. By the "bigger is better" rational we all will have to drive ever increasing monster-truck-tanks until they implode due to the gravitational attraction of their massive size. Having said that, i drive a big ass Lincoln and virtually all my vehicles have been big-effin things. Often i seem to advocate ideas that are against my own personal interests but i think are better for the overall mass of humanity. Seems sort of anti-Darwinian.
ttogreh Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Well, sure 150 MPG sounds good, but what of its emissions? I can convert my truck to about forty miles per gallon, but it would be a frickin' smog machine...
nilhil_glory Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 WANT DITTO i think its very stylish in body shape... altho id rather get the color in a chrome or lime green... i would definitly repaint the interior throw in two 15" MAs in a vacume sealed box of course! with a badass surround sound speaker arraingement
Msterbeau Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 Well, sure 150 MPG sounds good, but what of its emissions? I can convert my truck to about forty miles per gallon, but it would be a frickin' smog machine... They've got some amazingly clean diesels these days. Now that we get the low-sulfer diesel fuel here it's a lot easier to do. It has to meet our emissions regs in any case, so I wouldn't worry about that.
Steven Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 I still want an old shovel head. I had a 1960 El Camino one with batman wings and a glass wrap around window that sucked gas like whooooosh... but I miss that car dammit.
Head Wreck Posted February 26, 2008 Posted February 26, 2008 i'm sure the car will grow on me after a few round trips to solihull and back. big question. can you get 2 bergans, armour vests a minimi and two Diemenco SFW's in the boot

Head Wreck Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 looks fun though, light, mid engined. RWD. if not the fastest car they seem fun in the same way Smart Roadsters and Smart Coupe's did (even the braubus tuned petrols got 50 to the gallon) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...17/Dsc03218.jpg lets just say HW wants one for weekends, even if it can only fit my remmington rifle broken down and i'll have to wear my guillie

Check out the rear hatch opening. It's pretty huge. With the rear seats folded down, I'm pretty sure you'll have ample room for your goodies.

Msterbeau Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/pop...24&src=news So... a plug-in hybrid. There's still the costs and emissions associated with generating the electricity. By the way... the link doesn't work anymore. Had to go to Youtube:
ttogreh Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Well, batteries can be recycled, and if the electricity came from a nuclear plant or a wind farm, or a hydroelectric dam, or a solar array, or a wave farm, or...
GOREgeouslyDecorated Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I wanna go down on you and make you extremely happy, then come back up slowly and fuck you real good.. Yours Truly, Gas Prices
Msterbeau Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Well, batteries can be recycled, and if the electricity came from a nuclear plant or a wind farm, or a hydroelectric dam, or a solar array, or a wave farm, or... Yeah.. I know. But even if the source of electricity is renewable, there's still an out of pocket expense associated with it. I have yet to see a chart/study that shows the combined costs/mile. Personally, I'd settle for 75mpg and some more performance. Double the horsepower of the GT to 100 with a small four-cylinder engine and it would still get fantastic mileage. The damn car weighs 1400lbs!!
