Raven Posted February 24, 2008 Posted February 24, 2008 I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy the novels from this English Gothic author (Wayne Sharrocks). I was given 'Redemption' a couple of years back and thought that it was a taut, sensual and thought-provoking dark psychological thriller, that obviously had a lot of the authors own background within the pages. You really get drawn into the feelings of the central character and really feel for him when things get bad, yet he still manages to retain a quirky sense of humour despite the dark picture that is often unfurling. I was given the latest novel 'Dominion' for yule and thought that it was also a very good read (reminded me of Bret Easton Ellis' style). As with the previous book it is once again a dark psychological thriller and contains some fantastic & well-observed prose, that is both thoughtful and intelligent. It's basically a tale of betrayal and vendettas but with some clever twists and turns along the way. www.myspace.com/waynesharrocks
jadnifer Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Seems as if they are interesting reads. Does each book have it's separate story lines or do you have to read one book before you read the other??
Raven Posted February 29, 2008 Author Posted February 29, 2008 Seems as if they are interesting reads. Does each book have it's separate story lines or do you have to read one book before you read the other?? Both are stories independant of each other but have some common threads/characters so it's probably best to read 'Redemption' prior to 'Dominion'. I'll try and upload the Amazon links as there's synopsis, reviews, promotional blurb on them. http://www.amazon.com/Redemption-Wayne-Sha...3308&sr=8-2 http://www.amazon.com/Dominion-Wayne-Sharr...3442&sr=8-1
