Do You Think

KILLING SENTIENT BEINGS FOR HAVING DIFFERENT COGNITIVE AND EMOTIONAL CAPABILITIES, INTELLECTUALLY, AND SPIRITUALLY IS WRONG.

IT WOULD BE THE CHOICE OF THE MOTHER AND FATHER IN THEE GIVEN EXAMPLE, AND I FOUND MYSELF AT ODDS WITH MY OWN MIND!

IT MEANS YOU WOULD HAVE KILLED PROBABLY ALL THE SHAMANIC PRIESTHOOD OF THE STONE AGE, MOST OF THE HOLY PROPHETS OF THE WORLD, MANY SAINTS THROUGH THE AGES, MOST OF THE RENAISSANCE ARTISANS, NOT TO MENTION A GOOD HAND FULL OF THE CURRENT WORLD LEADERS!!!

SO YEAH, WHY NOT, BUT DON'T STOP THERE, YOU'VE GOT TO KILL EVERYONE THAT'S "DEFORMED" AS WELL.

THEN WE CAN GET BIG BROTHER TO SEND THE THOUGHT POLICE TO EXTERMINATE ANYONE THINKING CONTRARY THOUGHTS; AND THE 23 PEOPLE LEFT ON THE PLANET CAN START A LINE OF BORING, HOMOGENEOUS, INBREDS; THAT WILL HAVE TO KILL EACH OTHER OFF AFTER 2-3 GENERATIONS; FOR PURITY'S SAKE.

{please excuse my sarcasm, it's a coping mechanism}

I think that forced abortions and forced sterilizations are both wrong. It's taking away the rights of the person.

Some mentally challenged people can take better care of child than can a person that has there wits about them. If they forced this, what would the cut off be, how mentally handicapped would a person have to be? how would we gauge that? It's just wrong to even consider it IMO.

Also, genetics plays a role in this too. Two people in a relationship that decide to have a baby, even if both of the parents are mentally challenged, they could have an Einstein child. It's just like colors of eyes and hair. Or the analogy of two really ugly people having a beautiful child or two beautiful people having an ugly child. Also, come to think of it, two "normal" people could have a mentally challenged baby. It happens all the time. It's never guaranteed what's going to come out.

As far as the case with Ashley X, yes it's sad that this had to be done, but they wanted to be able to give their child the best life that they possibly could without having to put her in a nursing home and this was the only way they saw that they could feasibly do this.

I just think it's wrong that people are even talking about this at all.
