Some people here use Mac OSX... What OS is it based off? As in, what OS was it before it was upgraded and given the Mac interface? I'll bet it's not what you think.

NEXTSTEP/OPENSTEP... Which has a BSD Unix basis but with lots of neat new tricks.

OK, you got the Nextstep OS part right... but NeXTStep was based on the Mach Unix Kernal. Mach was developed to be a replacement kernel for BSD.
