punk_princess Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Heres mine Minutes 2 Midnight - Linkin Park As I Am - Alicia Keys
Destroit Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Hmmm...I really haven't listened to any full albums this year. I guess Mythmaker by Skinny Puppy has to win by default because it's the only one I've heard in its entirety.
Homicidalheathen Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 thats easy. Chemical Brothers we are the night http://www.thechemicalbrothers.com/home/
DJDeadbeat Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Oh jeez. Its a toss between The Horrors - Strange House Naked on the Vague - st and A Place to Bury Strangers - st
Troy Spiral (13) Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I've not been focusing on seeking out "new music" per-se that much in the last year or two. I've mainly focusing on the running & promotion of DGN, my Science/philosophy/religion stuff (along with trying to remain alive and all hah)But of the stuff i can remember as being specifically "2007" since I rarely think of music in terms of when its released: London After Midnight - Violent Acts of Beauty VNV - Judgment The Magnetic Fields - Distortion ( i think this is officially 2008 but it was available online in 2007) Decidedly not "obscure" anything as I've only been keeping up with the bare essentials in terms of new releases.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 What's an album? I actually thought almost the same thing. "Albums? Refresh my memory on that term again?"
DJ Saint Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Noisuf-X - "The Beauty of Destruction" but there were a ton of excellent albums last year that would rank a VERY close second.
deadbydesire Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Mythmaker by skinny puppy is my first choice but by the end of the year its a toss up between loudspeaker by Destroid or crossroads by mind.in.a.box
DJ Saint Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Mythmaker by skinny puppy is my first choice but by the end of the year its a toss up between loudspeaker by Destroid or crossroads by mind.in.a.box Loudspeaker is an AWESOME release!!!
the eternal Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Haven't listened to a lot either, but for anyone who misses the beautiful obscurity of Cocteau Twins, 23 by Blond Redhead is very nice. I think Misery is a Butterfly (their previous effort) is a little better, but this one definitely gives you more of a jolt. For any post rock fans, You, You're a History in Rust by Do Make Say Think is very good too.
deadbydesire Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I didn't see a thread about this lately but to go along with fav album of the year how about fav newcomer of the year. I would say mine would HAVE to be Angels on Acid " Eyes Behind the Curtain".
