Look for a series called Necroscope by an english author named Brian Lumley.....best vamp books I ever read....they make the ann rice vamps look like pussies lol.

there are 14 or 15 books total if I remember right, and I have read them all at least twice....some of them 3 times.....they will not dissappoint trust me.

My one ex said that they were so descriptive and vivid that they were giving her nightmares...

Voice of Blood by Jemiah Jefferson...... She has a vampire trilogy out and it is phenomenal! She is like a Younger Version of Anne Rice and just as brilliant!

Check out her books:

Voice of Blood

Wounds

I also enjoyed the Anita Blake series, a bit sexual but an interesting rendition. I have to second the bid for Lumley books they are very well done.

I like Lumly's writing style, and his vampires are sweet, but what I love is the fact that it's not -all- there is. The world is so rich it's just awesome. And descriptive it -is-... Gahh...

Honestly for me, Vampire fiction get's really boreing and old really quickly. It's rare that anying new, and interesting comes along when dealing with vampires, so I kind of avoid it.
